Old Xbox 360- smartglass issue.

I have recently resurrected my old Xbox 360 so that I can watch Netflix and YouTube on the TV. It's very useful for this and since I do not have very much money and don't do much gaming, I don't really want to have to upgrade.

I am rather fed up of having to type using the on-screen keyboard as it takes ages. I also don't want to buy one of the controller mounted ones in order to improve my experience. It seems that smartglass could help me fix me issue, but I have a problem;
it doesn't work.

On my android phone, it won't connect to the console. The same on my computer.

On my old windows phone it won't even sign in. I know I'm now using outdated tech so can expect failure, but this is really irritating me.

I'd also like to point out that I have tried the usual turn it off and on again for smartglass interaction in the settings of the console and have followed other advice from the internet, none of which has helped.

Also my Xbox is one of the very first 360s (a white one), but it does have a network port and I have a genuine wireless adapter plugged in to it.

Smart Glass So Far.

Are you sure you have the Xbox One version of Smartglass? The old Smartglass app for 360 won't work.
