Old xbox 360 account, email shut down long time ago, no acces to purchased item

Hello any help grateful here.

Situation:

I have/had a xbox 360 account with associated gamertag. My email ( a hotmail email ) was closed by me a while back - like 9 months ago. And was the email for the xbox 360 gamertag/account.

I have no way to reopen the email account from trying to claim back my email from Microsoft.

But I purchased games and DLC with that gamertag and associated email. So have I lost it or can I get access to my paid for content.

Is there any other way to claim ownership of my gamertag ?

cant connect to orginal xbox live

They shut down the old xbox servers long ago.

 

cant change old live id

yes i have forgotten the password for the acc but i can still sign in on my console, the old id was shut down so i have no acces to it all

 

If you're somehow able to get that hotmail address inbox re-opened again for a password recovery, or you're able to correctly log in right now to adjust the email settings, you just might have a chance to fully maintain
that account again.

You can also try contacting Xbox Support over the phone (US/CAN: 1-800-4MY-XBOX) to see if they can assist you, that is if you have other things to prove ownership of your account - this is just a theory; no guarantees.

Anything above is worth a shot. Having access to the email address linked to the Microsoft/Xbox account is very important.

 

Thanks but the email account is gone for good it's been shut too long there is no way to recover it apparently. It doesn't exist in any form according to XBOX chat help and you cant even try to resign up for it under outlook. It permanently closed 9 months
ago. I just didn't realise that Microsoft permanently ( apparently ) ties you access rights and gamertag to an email. You must move to another email to keep it they say.

So even if you have proof of purchase via your bank account that's irrelevant.

Also the gamertag is now in limbo forever and cant be reused.

It's their rules ( in their TOS ) and I think they are bad rules and a bad implementation of licence access, they refuse to move my dlc, games etc to a new account. Even with proof I purchased them. And have closed my gamertag and
will not grant access to the gamertag without the email. Again even though I can prove I am the purchaser of the digital content.

The money I spent is gone it seems.
