    Old version of Xbox Game Bar still active after installing new version


    I have updated to the latest windows 10 release and rebooted several times, but an older version of the Xbox Game Bar loads even though the new shows as installed. I ran the Windows Troubleshooter and "reset" the app. It cannot be uninstalled via add / remove
    programs.

    I found an article elsewhere on xbox support that shows a powershell command to show all the installed xbox apps and there are several different ones that show up (more than the source article suggested..)

    Get-AppxPackage -AllUsers -Name *Xbox*

    shows the following are installed (command output clipped to just the names..). This looks like at least two game overlays are present, or more?

    Is there a clean way to uninstall the old one, and which should be removed? The old one "works" but I would really like to try the new one I saw working on a friends PC.

    check the store. There might be an update for you to install the game bar to the latest version.

    This was eventually resolved when I updated Windows 10 itself to build 18362, following which many apps including the Xbox Game Bar had updates. I now can use the latest version, thanks.

    I did read it, and the bar has been updated numerous times, which is why I said check the store, as a new update may be available.
