Old saves / New console sync

Hello.

I recently had to switch my XB! to a new one and before getting rid off the old one i resetted it to factory default thus formatting the HDD.

So guestion is are the old saves that i made before available for the new console?

I heard that XB1 stores game saves to cloud through synchronising and not like the old XB360 where they were stored in HDD or MU.

If this is the case, is the cloud sync a default function?

Can i get my old data back from it?

I really liked to get couple of old saves for Fallout 4, but the game is not synchronising on start like the old one.

Only real difference with the two consoles is that i now have a downloaded "deluxe" version of Fallout 4 with the DLCs and season pass, as opposed to disc version.

Did i just "forgot" to turn the sync on?

Other console taking to long to sync

So i can sync my saves from either console now but my daughter can only sync saves from one console. Good news because im now half way there. Bad news because it wants to sync her old saves over her new ones. Not sute if clearing mac address helped because
i had only been trying her saves when i was doing that. Any thoughts on this? I now i could probably use the old saves and it might fix it but she has a lot of time into one level that would be lost completely.

Microsoft should "fix" Cloud saves so that they sync without
being required to play every single game that has a Cloud save associated with it. I've played Halo Anniversary and Saints Row The Third using Cloud Storage. Each one's saves were out of sync on the console I wasn't using because saves do not sync until you
play the game associated with them. If your saves were on the old console and did not sync with Cloud Storage, you'll need to play the game again on the old console to force a sync.

I stopped using Cloud storage and locally downloaded profiles on my various consoles and went back to keeping my saves and my profile on a USB Memory Unit. It's far faster and more predictable to move a USB MU from console to console than it is to run every
game with a save file on each new console one uses.

As long as you were connected to live all your saves will be stored on the cloud.

When you first start a game on your new console it will sync to the cloud to download your save.Depending on the game it can sometimes take quite a few minutes so don't worry if it seems to be taking a while.

In this case try to:

Delete the local data
Disconnect your console from the Internet (essentially go offline)
Load the game and start a new game.
Save your game when you get the chance
Close down the game
Go back online
Start your game game again. When prompted to sync your cloud save, cancel the sync.
Continue to to play the game and save.

Creating a new game offline, saving and then stopping the sync when online will create new save in the cloud overwriting your old one.
