Old profile

Hi all,my lad has had a new xbox and I've tried to load my old profile. My xbox died last year. However he set up a random profile for me to use on his old xbox and that is all that comes up. We can find my profile on line through friends but don't know how to load onto xbox. Oh they are also both on the same email address.
