    Old Microsoft Points

    Hi!

I was going through old stores and came across older Microsoft points cards that were marked down and decided to purchase a whole bunch. When I went to redeem the cards the website redirected me to Xbox.com (I live in Canada). When I arrived at the Xbox.com
webpage, it states that the code is not supported in my region. I am unsure of what the problem is in this situation.

    Best Regards, Nick

    :)

    Old Microsoft Points Card

I have an old Microsoft points card with a valid code, but when I try to redeem it I only receive an error message. The error code I was given was also not found when I searched for it. Any help would be appreciated.

    Redeem older Microsoft points card

    Hi

I am trying to redeem an old microsoft prepaid points card. This was from the old system that ended a few years ago. When the system changed from points to dollars these cards had no expiry and could be credited at a later date and would auto convert to
    my local currency.

When I try to redeem the card and enter its 25 character code, the card is recognised as a points prepaid token however when confirming to activate it, I get an error

    Something went wrong

Give it another try. If this happens again, let us know by entering the code below at xbox.com/errorhelp so we can investigate

    XBOS-1005 ea481f0a-44a3-4d37-9a63-0a951c482efc

This has been happening for a month now and I cannot find any information relating to this error code. I contacted microsoft live chat to assist with this, over a few days of investigating I was told they were unable to help and to ask here. The reason
they gave it because the prepaid card credit cannot be redeemed in the current system. Surely there is a workaround to this?

    Thanks for the help

Microsoft points cards were region locked. So if they were not made for Canada, they wouldn't work. I'm also pretty sure those cards expired years ago. They were only supposed to work for a certain amount of time after the switch to currency.

They went through saying that the issue was the location. I purchased them in British Columbia and redeemed them in British Columbia.

    Hey there,

Microsoft Point cards are no longer supported, and we recommend reaching out to the retailer you purchased the cards from to inquire about a possible exchange for the appropriate Microsoft Currency cards.

Hope this helps clear up the issue.

Redeeming an old Microsoft points card?

Since points were discontinued in 2013 most of the cards have expired by now.

Has anything changed to Microsoft Points Codes? Are they still working?

How old is the Points Card and when was the last time you've tried them and had them work?
Since Microsoft introduced the Euro Currency based Prepaid Cards / Codes in 2016, the points codes could be at least 4 years old. i guess i used some of my remaining Points Codes End of 2019. I dont know if you can see the redeem date of a microsoft points
    code in your microsoft account.
