Old gamertag is displayed over my new gamertag

The double gamertag is by design, as they transition over to the new gamertag system. Not all games will display the new gamertag system and as stated, your old gamertag will be displayed on 360 backwards compatible games. Any gamertag you create yourself,
is a custom gamertag.

This is intentional and part of the change over to the new gamertag system. It allows your friends to recognise you as they can see both your old and new gamertag. This will eventually go away.

Thanks for coming to the forums. This is a known issue and is being worked on. The gamer tag will show correctly in future update. So please be patient while they do work on the issue, as it will be resolved as soon as they can get it fixed.
