    Old External hard drive and a new xbox console


    We had added an external hard drive to our XOne (Because internal was filling up.) had no problems. Our XOne died and we replaced the console. Can we just plug that external drive into the new console? will it cause problems? Will we have to reformat
    it and then need to reload all the games and there are lots of them. anything I should know before plugging in? any advice or info will be appreciated.

    Okay here's the situation I have a 120g hard drive on my OLD Xbox Elite and I have run out of space and with all these games for gold I need a bigger hard drive. So in a couple day's I'm going out and getting a 250gb external hard drive for my OLD (I can't
    stress that enough) Xbox elite and I want to transfer all the data from my current hard drive to the new hard drive. I only have 1 system and I'm not upgrading to an Xbox slim. How can I go about transferring the data from my old external hard drive to my
    new external hard drive?

    Ok so around holiday time this year I bought the Xbox slim with kinect. I also got a 250 gb internal hard drive. I've recently began to run out of space because I share the console. There were a couple of things I was wondering about 1.) should I purchase
    a new internal hard drive (320 gb). And if so, is there a way to transfer my content from my old hard drive to my new. (note: I am not getting a new Xbox just a new hard drive) 2.) considering the fact that buying a new internal hard drive would only leave

    Sorry to hear you had to get a new console. But there is good news for you. Simply plug the hard drive into the new console and it will be automatically recognized. Each game you load though will require an initial update of only a few seconds for each
    game so they can sync to the new console.
