Old Controller Won’t Recognize Microphone

Got two Pre-2015 controllers, the ones without the 3.5 mm jack, that won’t recognize microphones anymore. I know the mics work and I know there not muted. Right now my theory is that the microphone is in a more updated firmware and therefore the more out
of date firmware on the older controllers won’t even recognize the thing. I have two mics and both work on a more updated controller, on the console, on the same account and even on different consoles and accounts. So like 90% sure it’s cause the firmwares
are mismatched. The two older controllers are on like 2.3 and won’t update further, while the mics are on 3.2ish.

Pretty much stumped so any help is appreciated.

Won’t recognize disc

console won’t recognize game disc or blue ray but will play a dvd or cd on first try every time I hook it up to on line it won’t read any thing and keeps asking if I own game or app it is getting very aggravating the console is a day one edition what can

Xbox controller won’t turn on

my Xbox controller won’t switch on. I have replaced the battery and nothing!! It’s only 4 months old. Any ideas?

When you try and update the controllers what happens? Do you see any error messages? Is so, could you send us photos of those?

Do other mics work on the controllers possibly a friend's mic?

The update works without a problem, no error messages. No other mics work on the controllers.

Unfortunately, if no mics work on the controller in any scenario then the issue is not software related but controller is most likely faulty and in need of a repair or replacement.
