Old 360 account erased?

Recently I tried to sign in to my old Xbox 360 account on my Xbox One. I put in the email and password for it but instead of loading up its gamertag it replaced it with a new, generic one (one of the ones it gives you when you start a new account). I searched
for my old gamertag to see if it's still there and it is. I'm not sure how to get into it because its email is now associated with this new gamertag. I'd appreciate any help.

Old 360 account

I had a first generation Xbox 360, and a gamertag to go with it of course. After a couple years it went all "red ring" on me, and it was way past any kind of warranty to get it fixed. I just purchased a Windows 8 PC (and love it) and I was prompted to make
a new xbox live account for the xbox games on widows thing. Is there anyway for me to access my old one? I would gladly delete this one and start over with the old. Thanks!

Old 360 account

Hi there Nasal ,

You should be able to simply sign out of the account that you are using and then sign in again with the old account's details and that should let you use your old account.

Are you sure you used the same email address and password that is associated with that account? If an email address is already connected to an XBL account it will not allow you to make a new one.

Clearing the cache will not erase your game saves, but will erase old updates, leaving room for the new updates.

try and erase old save files maybe that will help.

You can't directly transfer anything from the 360 to the One. Anything you purchased on your account that is backwards compatible will show in your Games and Apps area under Ready to Install as long as you sign into the same account that purchased the games.

I understand, but I meant Content Licenses; ONLY for example, say I transferred the licenses from my old 360 to a 360 slim, and then transferred the games as well with a 360 transfer cable; will I need to transfer the Content Licenses as shown by here
before I can re-download them (the content that is backwards compatible at least) onto my xbox one s, or can I just erase my old 360 hard drive and just start "fresh" so to speak

What are you talking about

You cannot erase an xbox live account

If you erase a ms account that's different

Completely different

You can never ever.erase.a.online account

If you are talking about privacy law

you are doing is erasing the personal.data but.not.the account

No account is erased there is.a 5 year limit on gamer tags yes now.as long as you don't login
