OK - Whats going on MS? U Update and now I can't login (sort of!!!)

Yesterday [12th April] you downloaded an updated to my windows 10 for the Xbox app (in windows store) ref: 27.28.8007.0 and at the same time my general windows update downloaded a dirty great big Cumulative patch (KB4015217) ... failing once but succeeding
the second time after which I found I could no longer log in to any of my Microsoft Games?

OK I thought ... will be something simple, but here goes. > If I try to open any game like Mahjong or solitaire collection I get a Sign In Error and told to refer to error code 1170000 (but guess what ... there's no info on this code!).

So I tried to log into the Xbox app directly but that too fails. I just get a green screen telling me to SIGN IN and that (you) are unable to sign me in at the moment. Try again later. (0x409) 0x8007003

No option to try to re-enter my login details and as for 'Try Later' ... been trying now for a good 10 hours solid!

Then there's the Windows Store ... currently sign out, but try to sign in and ... NOTHING! You can hit the drop down Sign In button as much as you like but not one thing happens when you do!

But ... and here's the kicker, open up a game and yes it opens and loads OK, it just will not sign you in (or show you as Signed In)?

You can play games as a Guest ... your previously played games are missing as too your awards ... but if you are saved as a Friend by another person who is not having this problem, each time you open a game on your computer you are shown (on theirs) as being
Logged In??? WTFishfinger!

So you Gurus .... what is going on? Been checking and checking all the settings I can think of, passwords are good, usernames too, caches are cleaned, emptied and replaced etc ... I now give up! Anyone out there have a clue what is going on as I don't?

What is going on?

I am also having problems with Jigsaw & Sudoku. Both are glitchy. In Jigsaw, I can place one piece, but then it Pauses on its own & won't resume play unless I minimize the window 1 or 2 times. Windows 10 recently
had an update & seems to affect these 2 games the most! Help Microsoft!

 

Whats going on?

I just managed to get a copy of brink obviously on xbox. to play it though i had to have a bigger hard drive and transfer the data from my old one onto this brand new one. after i transferred everything I started it up again and now my xbox is running really
slowly. Put the disc in the drive and tells me there is an update required to play the game. I've downloaded this but it keeps saying I have'nt and I can't play the brand new game I bought. Can anyone tell me if there is something I've missed something or
not done something right that is making this happen

 

Well with NO HELP from Microsoft, X-Box or any of the hero's behind these Games I was stuck with finding my own solution to the problem caused by (of all people) Microsoft and their latest Windows Update and I discovered that after the latest Windows 10
patch Tuesday update had been installed - it had corrupted it's own root directory for it's own Xbox Settings! Nice one Super Hero Programming Dud's [yes Dud's not Dudes!!!]

So after running a Root Directory repair, a fairly simple and painless process ... once you know that is what you need to do, everything is back as it should be and the sticky little elves at Microsoft are firmly put back in their box for another month
or so until they are allowed to to coc# something else up!!! Oh bless their little cotton socks ... not!!!

Anyway if this has been your issue or similar after an infamous Windows Update ... run a Root Directory repair ... a simple search online will show you how to run the command line prompt and no doubt even allow to to copy and paste it in to save you have
to type out all that ''geek speak''
