If you can manage it, I would aim at owning both, due to exclusives that appear only on 1 or the other, but being completely non bias as I do prefer xbox aim for the xb1 1st, with this new update it definitlyhas more of a next gen feel than releae day.

As the year goes on the amount of games that are better on 1 or the other are going to increase, and if your local gamestop or game store staff are nice enough to demonstrate this, you can pick the winers for both.

But without a doubt for 500 quid the xb1 is a gr8 console even if game developers are struggling a little to learn their way around it as with the other its very much straight forward.

And pricewise in my eyes they are exactly yhe same xb1 and kinect n smartglass the other and camera and vita for smartglass all comes to a similar mark, even though the other works out a bit more for the whole experiance.

I would say X1 is more of a gamble at the moment. $500 is a lot for me to gamble with so I went with the sure bet for the time being.

 

I can safely say the best launch titles are:

Dead Rising 3 (Xbox One Exclusive) which is a free roam game with RPG elements including multiple endings and character upgrading involving up to over 1000 zombies (with individual AI) on screen (at 720p upscale to 1080p and 30fps this isn't about the resolution
and the graphics are good but not anything to write home about. It's about the # or AI on screen).

Forza Motorsport 5 (Xbox One Exclusive) which is a racing simulation with circuit racing, open wheel, drag, and arcade (tag) gametypes. Running at 1080p 60fps it looks beautiful and the graphics are possibly the most photorealistic from both consoles. It
is a simulation first and foremost, using the Cloud to create AI that drives like your friends, but it also includes arcade gametypes as It (Virus), which is passing the "it" on to kill off everyone and grow the infects team, Pass the It, where you need as
little time as possible as "it" to win (stay incognito), and Keep the It, where the "it" is a marked man who is being chased by everyone to take the "it" status.

Peggle 2 (Currently Xbox One Exclusive) is... it's Peggle. It is 1080p 60fps with the classic charm of Peggle. It's so much FUN!!!

Ryse: Son of Rome (Xbox One Exclusive) is a brawler. Yes, it only runs at 900p 30fps but look at it and tell me it doesn't look better than any PS4 game. It's the graphical capability that rides this one, but it also offers a good multiplayer mode. Reviews
don't do it justice. (Player reviews, I don't own this one).

Finally, Battlefield 4 (Second Assault currently Xbox One Exclusive) is running at a crisp 720p 60fps upscale to 1080p (as opposed to PS4's 900p 60fps with no upscale), looks very nice although beaten by Forza. The campaign is buggy and throwaway but the
multiplayer is infinitely replayable. 64 players in a match, 2 commanders in a match, and destructable environments, this is definitely the best FPS currently out until the amazing Titanfall drops on March 11th (US), March 13th (Europe) and March 14th (UK).

 

Oh and if you like fighters then Killer Instinct is apparently the best out there, but I personally can't see the appeal. To be fair though I never liked fighters. It runs at 720p 60fps upscale to 1080p.

 

Best thing to do is look at plenty of comparisons. You may get a biased opinion on an x1 forum.

Look into price, graphical comparisons, boot-up times, install times, apps, cameras, things like smartglass compared to PS app, remote play on Vita etc

But most importantly, look at the games. The games that are out now, and in the next few months, also the games that are coming later in the year.

Ignore lloyd he is a fan boy for ps4

Games are important graphics are not.

If you like to play online that is important .sony not very good online,lloyd will defend this but just post in google sony online

game saves messed up aswell with sony hacks also.so dont put your credit card with sony you may end up getting hacked eventually

 

I have both had X1 since launch love it. Just got A PS4 a few days ago it's good also

 

It's sad when you can't express an opinion on a games forum without some people repeatedly insulting you. Says more about "them" than it does "me".

Just to address the online question. Not one case of credit card fraud has been recorded because of the PSN cyber attack. Stop trying to perpetuate a myth.

I have been on xbox live since launch day, and PSN is every bit as good, hasn't been down for one second for me, I was able to play online during the recent 6 hour maintenance.

I've found PSN to be lag-free, my accuracy on Killzone is more than 4 times higher than on any COD game, on 360 or X1. Same player, same internet. Substantially less lag.

 

You'll only play Titanfall on a Microsoft platform, and Titanfall is awesome. It's a good enough reason to buy a Xbox One alone.

Screw the haters. There's nothing wrong with the system a few updates cannot sort out. Microsoft listen to our feedback and make changes accordingly, have already done so, and are continuing to do so moving forward.

I'm happy with the system I chose to stand by.

The consoles will only get cheaper so if there are no must have games now/coming soon, for you personally, then you may as well wait.

The games list Lloydy linked isn't really a launch list (as he knows) it is a resolution/FPS comparison chart, this is the only one up it has over the X1. If the highest res is important to you then maybe the X1 isn't for you, the most powerful system will
be a PC always or maybe a high end Steambox. PS4 is cheaper though but as Lloydy is showing the launch games can't be that strong if most hang about on the X1 forums more than X1 fanboys.

He is right obviously that a X1 board is going to be biased though and until MS stretches the Kinects legs and hits us with the big exclusives the choice is hard.
