Hello I am here not really to discuss, but rather to call out some bs that this company is pulling.

Really? You're gonna do this to me and thousands of other players???

I get the charging people to change their Gamertag might be a semi-effect way to prevent offensive tags from being made, but why auto generate a craptasic tag and not give the person a choice to make their own the first place, and then demand they pay $10
to change something they had no choice over in the first place?????

Sounds like a **** way to treat customers, and to lose some business. Like hell Im paying $10 to get a proper gamertag cause y'all decided to make one up for me thats absolutely horrible and has nothing to do with the theme I've got going for myself.

Another thing why aren't able to import our old Xbox/Xbox 360 profiles onto the xbox one? Or do I have to pay money to do that too?

Im highly disappointed in this product and this company.

You can use your xbox/xbox 360 profile on the xbox one.You just download it when you set up your xbox one for the first time.

You will need your log in details obviously.

When you start a account you are given a random gamertag,you can change that random tag to one of your choosing for free.

Any other changes must be paid for.If it wasn't then people would just be changing their tags willy nilly.

Of course,you could go to one of the other systems where you can't change your gamertag/id at all.

This system has been in place for about 12 years so it's nothing new.

Erm..............You can import your old profile, this profile I'm using has been the same profile I used all the way back to the original Xbox................so not sure where you get the idea you cant.

Just bought my first Xbox One last week and just signed in with my 7-8 year old 360 profile.

Profile, achievements, etc, all transferred over completely free of charge.

Even all the games I have downloaded in the past are there waiting too, again, completely free of any extra charge.

 

Oh I got something to say too, OP. I've been on XBL for the 12 years Badger mentioned and can say from personal experience that pretty much every response so far is correct.

• You're assigned a GT automatically when you sign up for an XBL account... it's free to change it the first time.
• I've had every Xbox since they first came out, with the exception of the newest "X". I've always been able to, but never had to pay to transfer a profile.

Perhaps do a little research and learn how it works before throwing a tantrum on the forums next time? People on these forums become "highly disappointed" with people that come in here with a chip on their shoulder and rant about things they've apparently
not done much checking into. This forum would be a very good place to come find answers to problems / questions if people would just learn to come in here with a little more tact and a lot less attitude.

 

Same here.Been with xbox/xbox live since 2003 & you have never had to pay to transfer your gamertag from one console to another.

Nothing wrong with a rant as long as it a well informed rant.
