    Oh... controller woes....

Is it impossible to create a controller for this system that doesn't feel like a cheap piece of equipment? Not only am I still suffering from the disconnection issue (which, I've followed all the steps shy of sending my console in... so please... not another
one of those responses) but I have a tendency to grip my controller... hard during tense moments. Gripping this controller actually makes it creak. The material it's made out of is isn't comfortable. The back of the controller is large to the point
that my fingers jam into the controller during said tense moments. At this point, I find myself praying to the Microsoft gods that you'll make the 360 controller compatible (because those were just golden!)

Maybe it's not a hot topic for gamers out there, maybe it is. But for me, I can't wrap my head around playing any game with such terrible controllers. And if it says anything, I'm thoroughly familiar with the Duke!

I expected a solid experience this generation :/

    :)

    Controller problem..

    Hi Cyrus Grimwulf,

Sorry to hear about your controller woes... have a look at the link below for steps on how to troubleshoot this, failing all steps it might mean a repair on the controller is needed.

    Oh... controller woes....

My 4 controllers are fine although my Day One and the extra I bought the same day do feel "creaky" and there is definate movement in the casing. The two newwr pads (less than 3 months old) are solid and sturdy though.

To be honest, I prefer thse pads to the 360 pads.

    Might just be me though.

I'll never go back to the 360 controllers. The One's controllers are far superior (The ones with the 3.5 audio jack anyway).

  6. I got one of the Xbox elite controllers for Christmas and you couldn't pay me to go back to regular controller... and I never had any issues with it.

I bought a replacement for my day one controller (dropped it my fault!) and the build quality is much sturdier.

    Oh... controller woes....

the shell does feel cheap because the 2 panels that hide the screws, but after using my day one controller for almost 2 years, i feel that the X1 controller is better engineered because i'd go through about 1 360 controller a year, but my day one X1 controller
still works like new with very little wear showing. you can always get a elite controller, costs a pretty penny, but that thing is solid.

    i miss The Duke.

  9. I'm very careful with controllers( I rarely ever drop them and never eat while holding them) and I've hard a couple x1 controllers break on me. One of them started to drift in the left stick, the A button died on another. Most notably my COD advanced Warfare
controller the RB hardly works only after 3 months. However one of the 3 controllers I bought at launch still works perfectly.

My xbox 360 controllers did seam to last longer. I had 2 halo 4 console controllers and both shells stress cracked at the battery area. I have the blue chrome right now and it's pretty good after a year and a half.

I am not having any issues with my standard Xbox One Controller. I like it better than the 360 controller.

  11. The matterial the shells are made from is different. (ABS plastic etc)

You can feel the difference by pressing your thumb nail along the shell just under the thumb sticks. The 360 shell is tough and resists pressure like it should while the X1 shell does not and will flex inwards, even in an area where it should be structerly
    the strongest.

Give it a try and listen to all the creaking going on in the X1 controller, now try the 360 controller.

Loved the Big Duke controller, but both it and the S had the same flaw. The cord would break at the controller. Went through a lot of em over the years.

i literally love the design and feel of the new controller - its ni-on perfect imo.

I have 4 controllers at present, standard black one, titanfall controller, ice white ltd edition (gold triggers) and forza controller from the console bundle

The original black one does feel somewhat cheap compared to the others but the latter 3 are brilliant imo esp the ice white and forza ones which are fairly new in comparision. The titanfall controller has been used daily and still has no issues at all and
i wouldnt say im light on the sticks/triggers.

I was in Game the other day and they do grip packs, just rubber pads to put in areas, I recon that would help you grip issue, also agree the newer controllers are better.

Screw the disconnecting problems, I'm having them too, had them since after 1 month of having my One. They are making no effort to fix it either.
