    OG Xbox One stutters and freezes frequently while playing games.


    Hi.

    This issue I had for the last months and is more noticeable in some specific games. My best example is Doom 64; almost every time the game has to spawn new enemies, pick a new item or just just a big animation (like the dead of a boss) the game freezes for a few second before resuming the action.

    This also happens in games like Life is Strange when I need to interact with something, the game freezes before loading the action I asked for.

    I play all my games from an external 5400rpm HDD.

    Also, when watching movies from another external HDD, sometimes the image just gets distorted for a short time. I know the video files are ok because I can watch them perfectly on my PC.

    Again, this just started to happen a few months ago, everything worked fine before. I’m on the omega build, and I already restored the console to it’s factory state, removed the console from the Insider program, turned of the capture option... nothing works.

    Is anyone else experiencing this issue? Thanks in advance.

    steps to be attempted that concern games freezing and or crashing.

    Hi Bill,

    Thanks for updating us with your replies! Sorry to hear that the latency issue is still around. As previously asked by XBF Diego, are you experiencing the lag/stuttering on your OG Xbox One as compared to when the same game is played on your Xbox One S consoles?

    If you are getting the lag/stuttering during game play on the OG Xbox One that is noticeably different to the game play you get on the other consoles, then this may indicate that there is an issue with your network card in
    the OS of the original Xbox One console. You would then have the option to
    request a repair/exchange for the console     if it is out of warranty, if you choose to do so, since you've done just about all the troubleshooting you can.

    If you are not getting the lag/stuttering during game play that is noticeably different than on the other consoles, then you can disregard the latency test since it isn't hindering your game play. I would recommend at that point
    to go ahead with a full factory reset to see if it helps out.

    I install games that I play frequently, yes. It will freeze while playing an installed game, a game from disc only, arcade games, indie games, music videos, general/main dashboard menus, and apps. I have had my system freeze in this manner while playing
    Minecraft (Arcade, not disc) and having no disc in the system. Like I said in the first post, this same exact issue, same symptoms 100%, happens to several other friends of mine.
