    OG Xbox One does not shut down via Xbox button menu.


    Hi everyone

    I have an OG Xbox One and it doesn't shut down when asked to via the Xbox button menu on the controller.

    I have to go to settings, Energy Management and then choose "fully shut down the console".

    It happens since the update from October, I think, and since then I always have to shut the console down that way, even though it's set to energy saving mode.

    What I have tried:

    - Power cycle the console to clear the cache by turning the console on, waiting a bit until everything is on the screen and all, and then hold the power button on the console for approximately 10 seconds, so I saw the console shut itself down and the power brick went on for a bit.

    - Fully reset the console while NOT restoring the settings backup.

    - Perform an Offline System Update.

    - Give feedback via the dedicated function.

    The result is still the same, console goes into standby when asked to shut down.

    Yes, you will. The OG Xbox LIVE has been shut down a while ago. It does not matter from Disc or HDD, there is no OG XBL anymore.

    I know XBL for original Xbox games had been shut down.

    What I meant was, if I purchase an original Xbox game through games on demand, would I be able to access the guide and use features like party chat?

    The why was the OG Xbox servers shut down, I mean you needed it for Xbox 360?

    First, I want to make sure, are you talking about the Power button on the front of the console or the Guide/Home Xbox button on the top part of the controller? I only know of two things that the Power button on the front of the console can do, turn it On
    and turn it Off. Indeed, one of the reasons Microsoft changed the Power button on the One S to a physical push button was because people were accidentally touching the capacitive button on the Xbox One and turning it Off. If you are referring to the Guide/Home
    Xbox button, you are right. You should be able to tap the button to get to the Home page/menu. Also, press and hold to turn On the Xbox, and press and hold to select "Turn console off" or "Turn controller off". I regret to say that the error code you gave
    us is not listed on the "Error & Status Code Search" page. But, after doing some checking I discovered that it may have something to do with connection issues either
    with the internet and or controller. In those cases there was a some positive results from doing a

    hard reset    . Also, it might be worth trying to disconnect and reconnect (pairing) the controller, see "Xbox One Wireless Controller disconnects
    or can't connect    ". I would be curious if you see the same issue with the controller connected via a USB port.

    [/quote]Are the Games listed on the Backwards Compatible List? And do you have an Xbox 360 S HDD? Keep in mind that the BC Games are also by Region, check the Region as well and no OG Xbox Game plays via Xbox LIVE any more. Support
    for OG XBL was shut down a while ago.
