OG Xbox games on xbox live

Is there a possibility of adding this functionality in the near future? I bought both OG Star wars Battlefront 1 and 2 thinking this was something coded out of the box only to find out that neither worked. All the other OG Xbox games that have online play
don't work either so what gives? Why can't they work like Halo 2 on the MC Collection and use the new Xbox live.

Suggestion: Figure out how to get them running on Xbox Live so that a newer audience can experience OG xbox games the way most of us did back when it was new.

Original Xbox Games should be backwards compatible as well

That would be really cool... To have OG Xbox games on Xbox One with full Xbox Live support again.

But i found the backwards capability experience on Xbox 360 to be frustrating at times. As the Xbox controller was different than the Xbox 360 controller. I will just play my OG Xbox games on my OG Xbox.

Dont forget Bruce Lee Quest of the Dragon! Or Freedom Fighters, Dead or Alive 3 and so on

Well those are OG Xbox games, so most likely no. Until they announce you can play OG Xbox games on your One.

I was under the impression that they did work over XBL. I remembered them even showing Crimson Skies playing multiplayer between an actual original Xbox and a One during the reveal. Are the Battlefront games system link only?

I'm sure it's always a possibility, but I haven't heard anything official as to whether or not it will ever come back. A lot of it would also be down to the developers.

No. Live for original Xbox games was closed in 2010 and was not brought back for backwards compatibility.

I think they work if you buy them digital from the xbox one section dont know about the disk version of the games and not all the OG games are compatible yet...

The live for OG xbox games has been turned off for awhile. The only downside of doing backwards compatibility for OG games.

the OG Xbox live was a completely different system, when the 360 came out they moved to a new and improved version of live which was not compatible with the og box. the 360 uses the same infrastructure (backbone) as the latest Xbox.
