OG Xbox backwards compatibility.

Watched Xbox's E3, but nothing really tickeled my fancy untill Phil began talking about bc for origional xbox games playable on X1, X1-S and X1-X

I have well over 100 OG Xbox games so... Right up my alley. Be fun playing those games again without having to plug in the ol' X to this limited HDMI ported 4K Flatscreen. lol

The Whole Reason I Got An Xbox One...

Having a game show up on the backwards compatibility list is dependent on the creators of the game. They are the ones who ok the games to be backwards compatible. I'm sure your game will be available at some point. Speaking of backwards compatibility, did
you see the E3 announcement? They are going to add og Xbox games to the backwards compatibility list as well

 

Get a hdmi switch with a remote maybe.

I've got a 4->1 hdmi switch, one input for 360, one for X1, one for dvd player and one for BD player.

Normal operation the last powered up get through without any further mesch.

 

I use a official microsoft cable that connects my crystal xbox via hdmi but they are really hard to get hold of now.

Looking forward to playing an "updated" version of Crimson Skies again,that game was class & one of the few xbox games I never kept.

KOTOR updated would be the icing on the cake.

 

Tried a few hdmi switches, neither was worth a plug Nickle. So I simply retired a few things. Now X1 and Pro serves as gaming rigs, BR players and PC. Saves space as well.

My hope is that they simply allow all the OG games to run without being left. "Up to devs." But as this OG BC is simply a stunt to drum up $ and hype... each game will likely come trickling in over time. - that's not me being negative, but simply how MS
does things.

My question is what about the xbox live side of it?

Live for the original xbox was shut down so will there be some sort of live support for og xbox games?

 

Wouldn't be a fully bc game without system link and XBL support. I can't see them not doing it, but then again. It's MS, so maybe not.

 

They did say on xbox daily that you can system link all generation xbox's to together,so an og xbox with a xbox one x,a 360 etc. but LAN parties are a thing in the past for me.

 

LAN parties and console HDDs is what made xbox a household word. XBL didn't happen til much later and at a premium price with strings attached.

 

This is the best news tbh, After 6 months of being a silverback I've signed back up just to play WAW on BC. Like you ElectroFlying, I have allot of original XB games and the original transparent green XB is in a holiday house now. But seriously, how much
better are the BC 360 games? Imagine originals, Forget this "bring out your original console" idea.
