    Offline Xbox 360 to Online Xbox One


    I'd really appreciate all the help I can get on this…

    We've only got internet a few years ago therefore before the Xbox one we played the 360. Our accounts are offline and are not connected to an email/Xbox live. We have online accounts on the Xbox one since you have to and would like to connect/merge our 360
    accounts to our existing Xbox one for all our achievements.

    Will this work? Would out Xbox one email work on the 360 so we can merge the profiles?

    If Xbox 360 sold over 77 million console. Xbox 360 have 40 million Xbox Live Users with having multi-accounts and average between 2-3 accounts. How many people do microsoft thinks play offline compared to people online. Could there be more offline players
    then online? Something to think about xbox with xbox one 24-hour check-in.

    Adding my partners Xbox 360 Username to the Xbox One

    It sounds like you created an offline profile on your 360 for your partner. Unless it's an online profile with a unique associated email address, you won't be able to transfer it across. Your profile transferred, but your partners isn't attached to it, it's separate and offline on the 360.

    I'd look at trying to convert the offline profile on your 360 to an online one, associate an email with it, then load that up in the One.

    It's not possible to merge accounts i'm afraid.

    If you wanted to use the accounts you used on the 360 you would need to connect them to live via your 360 & then once that's done you can download them onto the xbox one via xbox live.

    As those tags profiles have never connected to live before the gamertags may be in use by someone else.

    I am assuming this is what you mean.

    Back in the 360 days you were not required to have an online MS account connected to your xbox profile (it is now required with the ones).

    The 360s used to have the capability of have local only profiles that were attached to the console themselves and could not get online and play multiplayer.

    Again I am assuming this is what you are talking about.

    This does have to be done on a Xbox 360.

    There is no way to use offline profiles on an Xbox One so they would have to have accounts with email addresses in order to use the One. There is no way to transfer an offline profile from a 360 to a One so you would have to create online accounts for them.

    The update for the Xbox One will only be availabe on the Xbox One to enable people to play the console offline.

    That said, the Xbox One will be playable online and offline, but it'll be better if played online, what, with the Cloud, ability to stream games in the future, Forza's Drivatar, 300,000 servers etc..

    Depending on your broadband, the update may be fine and highly unlikely it will brick consoles, MS learned their lesson when the original 360's had RROD's.

    I'm afraid it's not possible, you can create an online account using the offline account on your Xbox 360, but you cannot merge an offline account to an online account that is already created.
