'Offline' when not Appearing Offline

Hi there. Honestly going mad over here and I desperately need someone to either say 'hey, this happened to me' or just an explanation.

So. For months now I've had an issue where, when my Xbox is turned off, sometimes it will randomly show me as 'Offline' rather than 'Last Seen etc'. I know that when you Appear Offline it shows this, but on both my Xbox One & Smartglass for Windows 10 I'm
not set to Appearing Offline. I haven't set myself to Appear Offline in months.

It's only when my Xbox is turned off.

What could be causing this? Has anyone else experienced this? It's honestly driving me insane and anything, theories or explanations or empathy, it'd just help so much.

my status is constantly saying i am appearing offline. i dont know how to change it

You are showing as last seen at present, i think this is the windows 10 xbox app casuing the issue here, i think this means when you use the xbox app on W10 even when you close the W10 xbox screen it sort of just goes into offline mode, you would need to
close the app actually by stopping it via the task manager manually via pressing these keys together....Ctrl Alt Delete then finding the xbox app and stopping it.

 

Fairly certain it's not to do with the app, to be honest, as I went through a couple of months of not even going on my laptop and therefore wasn't accessing the app, yet it would still sporadically show me as 'Offline' every now and then throughout those
months.

You could possibly try a hard reset to see if that fixes the problem or try contacting support to see if they can help

 

Apparently I was appearing offline last night not sure why though

 

Whilst you were actually not on your Xbox??

 

I know know it's a stupid question but your not set as offline a 360 as that happened to me and took me ages to figure it out
