    I just got a Xbox One X and the system is been acting up lately, sometimes just freezes on the boot up animation.

    Or just doesn’t show anything on the screen..

    So, I’ve been wanting to reset to factory settings.

    But since I noticed it’s running on the August 2021 build, I want to update it,

    But for some weird reason it’s not letting me do that.

    Every time I boot up in the troubleshoot screen, and plug in my previously prepared USB stick the Offline system update option won’t “light up”

    I have even tried to plug my usb in first then start in the recovery mode. Also no luck.

    Am I doing something wrong here?

    Hello CarlosHerdz! I'm Claus, an Independent Microsoft Community Consultant for Xbox! Glad to be able to help you!

    You need to keep in mind that your USB flash drive (stick) has to be formatted to NTFS. Without doing so, it won't work. Also, you need to download the OSU1 .zip file (https://www.xbox.com/xboxone/osu1), extract it, and only have the $SystemUpdate folder inside of the USB flash drive. When you do all of that, the "Offline system update" option will be available. Another thing you can try is to perform the complete system reset from the Troubleshooting screen, which will ask you to connect to the internet, and the console should automatically update itself.

    Actually, I have done all the steps above, and followed all directions from the official Xbox website.

    The reason I’m here looking for help is because all failed.

    I have also tried to reset my Xbox but I have the following error code when attempting to do so. System error E203

    To be more precise: E203 0000080F 800701E7

    Digital assistant told me that error 8B050084 means that update is needed but is not available. Does anyone know when it will be available

    For cases like this, the update is available via the file that is provided for the Offline System update which should fix the issue.
