offline profile to xbox live profile.

im trying to help my girlfriends little sister connect to xbox live for the first time. but.. she does not want a new pofile. she i happy to change her gammer tag but losing her achievments and the 1005g thing on her profie is something she isnt wanting
to part with. i made this profile hoping i could just sign into it on her offline profile and then maybe it would ask to change the gamer tag. is there anything i can do to change her offline profile online and not have to make a new one lossing hours of game
time and achievments. please help me. i dont do xbox. im a pc person and im just trying to help her out. got her internet, 3 months live and she can use wifi on her xbox. but now we are at a stand still. thank you for your time.

Completely 100% wrong!

Just deleted my profile off my xbox one, then downloaded my brothers profile ( as if he was the potential buyer). The two games worked perfect under his account both online and offline.

Adding my partners Xbox 360 Username to the Xbox One

It sounds like you created an offline profile on your 360 for your partner. Unless it's an online profile with a unique associated email address, you won't be able to transfer it across. Your profile transferred, but your partners isn't attached to it, it's separate and offline on the 360.

I'd look at trying to convert the offline profile on your 360 to an online one, associate an email with it, then load that up in the One.

No matter what option she chooses the achievements will disappear as achievements earned offline do not usually transfer to an online account. However, I would recommend getting her online with the gamertag that she is already using. There is a small possibility
that those achievements may populate in time.

At the very least she'll be able to continue playing on her already saved games.

A few things need to be clarified. Did you at any time either Delete an existing Xbox LIVE Account or use another console in which the Profile for Xbox LIVE was originally on? The Profile that you are trying to use on your Xbox 360,
is it an Xbox LIVE Profile or maybe an Offline (Local Storage only) Profile that you named after an existing Xbox LIVE Profile?

If it is just an Offline Profile (it will have a Silver "bar" along the top and state "Offline"), it is not an Xbox LIVE Profile. You will need to Recover an Exiting Xbox LIVE Profile or create a new one. For example, the Profile
you are using to Post from these Forums is an Xbox LIVE Profile. If you used the Recover Feature on your Xbox 360 Dashboard with the Email/ Password you Signed in with here, this Profile would then reside on your Xbox 360 Console.

To explain this a little different, I'll use my Profile "LostKauz". If I used an Xbox 360 that was new to myself, it would not have any Profile on it. If I Created an Offline Profile (it would only exist on that Local Storage Device) and called it "LostKauz"
it would not be my Online Xbox LIVE Profile of "LostKauz". It may share the GamerTag Name but that would be it. If I tried to Join Xbox LIVE with that Offline Profile of 'LostKauz" it would ask for an Email and Password, since it is not a real Xbox LIVE Profile.

In order for you to Recover your Xbox LIVE Profile you will need to know the Windows LIVE ID Associated with the Account/ Profile (Email and Password).

There's no joining of an offline profile and a Live profile just because they have the same name. You can still join Xbox Live from your offline profile with a different gamertag, or you can pay 800 Points on your current Live profile to change it
to another name and make the desired name available when promoting your offline profile to Live.

Afraid not; you can turn an offline profile into an online profile, but you
can't merge an offline profile into an existing online profile.

I would, however, suggest he call an Xbox Live agent about cancelling the subscription on the current LIVE GOLD account and then move the subscription to the offline profile after making that a LIVE profile.

Hi there,

only one xbox live account can be connected to a specific Microsoft Account, so if you want to 'upgrade' an offline profile to a xbox live account you will need to use a Microsoft Account that doesn't have an xbox live account already connected.

So if you don't have an Microsoft Account without an Xbox live account connected you will need to create a new Microsoft Account if you want to 'upgrade' that offline profile.
