Offline profile now asks for Live account?

Hello!

Setup: Xbox with one main Xbox Live Gold account, and eight offline family/friend/guest accounts.

The main Live account works fine, no problems.

Problem: As of now, two of the accounts used by my family are now asking for a Live sign in. We have not created one as we can remember, and we have also tried entering every email ever used by those members. Nothing works - not even emails that will log
on to a MS account like hotmail - it just adds a random unused gamertag to the account. There seem to be no way to get around this. How could this have happened, and what can we do about it?

Related: The day before this happened, we played some games. Not online, but with the main profile signed in. However, the Xbox was offline from the internet at the moment to fix another problem I've had (http://forums.xbox.com/xbox_forums/xbox_support/xbox_360_support/f/9/t/1743819.aspx).
We played NHL 13, with one of the two problem profiles signed in, and then MW3 with both of the two problem profile signed in. Worth to mention is that a third profile was used, also an offline profile with no Live, but that profile did not get this problem
at all.

What I wan't to do: I would like to remove the "asking for a Live sign in" on the two offline profiles, so that they can be used for playing offline again, as they have some savepoints in games and so on.

Xbox 360 Update 23/2/12

since i got the update now it asks my offline profile to log into xbox live everytime I boot up the xbox its annoying.

 

Would I be able to use an Xbox One with NO internet connection?

I have updated my xbox one and games and still cant play offline. Always asks me to select my profile to play but cant select a profile offline. Getting ridiculous, called xbox support and they had no answers. I have no internet where I live and now have
a $450 paper weight

 

Hmm. When you say offline , do you mean that the account is silver, or that it doesn't go on Xbox line at all ? Because If you sign into Xbox.com with an unused email it automatically creates a gamer tag for that email.

The last option there. These are just accounts used for multiplayer in splitscreen, and account's for my kid and his friends. No need for even silver Live accounts there.

Yes, that one we found out today when we were "investigating" this. For example, my girlfriend (one of the "broken" offline profiles are hers) has an old hotmail email account, but she hasn't ever used it with the xbox. However, to be 100% sure that we hadn't
used it, we tried to sign in on the Xbox website with that adress, and it then created a random gamertag. However, that shouldn't matter at all, because there is no need for the offline profile on the xbox to be asociated with that email.

Tomorrow I will try to login with the broken profiles, and then enter my own Xbox Live account login, as that is the only Xbox Live account existing on this Xbox. Did not think of that earlier. If it works I will write it here.

If you, DGYT, or someone else has any more ideas, please give me a hint!

In your other thread you state that you have formatted your hard drive. Where have you been storing the offline profiles? If they are not even Silver accounts then the only place they would be is in your local storage.

Thank you for your reply, but I think you missed a little in my description. I got a second Xbox since I thought mine was broken, and formatted the drive on the "new" Xbox. When I found out the problem was not with the hardware of the console itself, I went
back to my original hdd with all the profiles.

If you havet any hints, please write again!

By the way, I still havn't tried signing in with my own live profile on those accounts, gonna dö that later.

OK, tried signing in with my Xbox Live details, but it didn't work. Gonna se if MS support is of any help, otherwise there will have to be two new profiles.
