    Offline Play on Windows Keeps Resetting


    I'm having an issue with "Saints Row 4: Re-elected" from the Microsoft Store. The problem is that it won't prompt for permission to use my MS account and this causes achievements to not unlock as documented in several threads already. The suggested workaround is:



    1) Disconnect internet and reboot

    2) Start game and go to co-op campaign

    3) This should trigger a prompt to sign in (within the game) which it does sometimes

    4) At that prompt you are supposed to reconnect network and it should display the permissions dialog from Windows. It doesn't in my case.



    The recommendation at this point is to ensure that Offline Permissions (in Microsoft Store) / Offline Play (in online MS account settings) is off which prevents offline play. I've tried that and Windows keeps turning the option back on.



    1) Turn off the permission in the MS Store.

    2) Get a warning that I don't have any changes left this year (because I've done it already twice this year)

    3) Close and reopen the MS Store and the option is enabled again and the count is set back to 1.

    4) Go to the online MS account settings to Offline Play for this device.

    5) Remove Offline Play from the device, confirm and wait for it to finish. Count is now 0.

    6) Go back to MS Store and confirm it is now off.

    7) Reboot

    8) Option is enabled again both in MS Store and online.

    I'm unable to try the workaround for disabling offline play because Windows keeps turning it back on. How can I stop this?

    Yes I have tried unlinking from both places. Given that when I unlink from one and it says I have no more unlinks for the year it seems odd that it is resetting back to 1.

    Yes I have the new XBox app. None of the other Xbox games I have installed are having an issue. They have all properly synced to my profile and therefore I'm seeing achievements unlock. Again, the only reason I'm trying to unlink is so that 1 game will trigger a login prompt and access for permission to use my XBox profile again.

    My Minecraft Launcher Says "We were unable to verify what products you own. Please check your internet connection" and only lets me play Demo

    Also i just noticed that every 3 seconds it keeps switching from "play demo" to "play offline" in both windows 10 and windows 7/8 launchers

    I made reset keeping data, so it does not help. Still can play offline from disc.

    Play games offline on Windows using Offline mode     for the steps.

    Be mindful that there are features of the game that can’t be played while you’re offline such as the following:

    • Online Co-Op
    • Online Free Roam
    • Online Multiplayer
    • Auction House
    • Rivals
    • Forzathon
    • Clubs
