Offline gaming and live streaming

Hi there.

Can I go offline for games but still be connected to the internet for apps?

I would like to play my games offline (without any updates) but I still want to be able to watch Netflix and YouTube on my X Box One X.

Hi! I'm afraid that once you go online the xbox will detect updates and so won't be possible to use non updated games offline.

Hi, for clarification, you want to play games offline or just not updating them constantly?

Well this is where it can get technical for example you broadcast while the console is classed offline if it's going through a capture device and broadcasting via a PC but that is one method.

like a previous ambassadors have said you can turn the Xbox offline but once an update is due it renders the game unplayable till update is complete i couldn't tell you if this is the same for older Xbox titles but i will test it myself and get back to you

You can turn off automatic updates, but if you try to play a game that requires an update you wont be able to play until update has been installed, regardless.
