    Hi Phil,

    Thanks for coming to the forums. We understand having issues installing a game from disk. We recommend to try the

    troubleshooting for installing disk    . Especially solution 2 where it says to install offline.

    Solution 2: Take your console offline and install the game

    Take your console offline, cancel the download, and then power cycle the console. After you successfully install the game, go online and let the update download.

    Why do disk based games take hours to install?

    There is a lot of info. Install them while offline to see if they download faster.

    Click here to see how to download while not online. Also, the game will download updates before it actually starts installing. It just doesn't say that.

    If you are playing online games or even some offline with leaderboards they stop the downloads in favour of the games.

    i have a Xbox series x and i don't want to to use Xbox network and i got Xbox one games

    and when i installed them offline and once they finished installing them offline and launching them say (THIS GAMES NOT READY YET GO ONLINE FINISH INSTALLING IT) I WANT TO KNOW WHY THIS NEEDS TO BE DONE WHATEVER IT IS STOP FORCING PEOPLE TO GO ON TO XBOX NETWORK
    A lot of games these days have online updates, even for offline disc games. Sounds to me like that game needs to download something else to finish working. Which game is it?
