Offline game titles?

Do you have a list of games that can be played off-line? I live in a rural area with no Internet access at my home.

I can take my consul to the city every month to get updates and also when I buy a new game I can take it there to get all of the updates necessary to make it function properly and register it. However, I need to know that when I return home then it will
function properly. For instance I just purchased “garden warriors two : : plants versus zombies “ because all the online reviews say it has an off-line mode. However once I got it home it refuses to play unless it can connect to the EA server to verify
who I am first. I hope that somewhere there exists a comprehensive and well researched list of games that will function fully without Internet access. Surely there must be other gamers in rural communities or Third World countries where Internet is not a common
access option.

When you purchase a game from xbox marketplace check if that game requires online elements

It is what they mean as it'll still download games and title updates when it's in standby, aka "offline mode".

I wasn’t talking about backward compatible titles specifically.. in my experience with Xbox one off an external hard drive with the console set to home EVERY TITLE DOESNT EVEN START OFFLINE.. for the PS4 I don’t have ps now but the titles purchased and installed on the external hard drive works perfectly fine offline without single exception.. looks like Xbox checks your ownership of the games even on consoles set to home if you tried to start them offline

Even though it is a free game, it is an online only title and requires Gold to play. No offline play for it as far as I know.

Hi AsuraXY,

Have you tried to download the title while your console is in Offline mode? You can find that in Network Settings under Go Offline. The reason it is most likely stalling out is because it is trying to download the base game and the most recent update for
that game. Going Offline can fix that usually.
