Offline Friend Status

    Offline Friend Status


    I don't why there is such a hassle when going through your friends list to know who is really a non-XBOX Gold member from those who changed their online status to display that they are "offline". This is difficult and annoying to be on "XBOX LIVE REWARDS"
    in the "REFER-A-FRIEND" section, and having to go back and forth from your friends list to put in their gamer tags (then finding out that they are either not eligible, still gold members, or are already referred).

    So I was wondering if XBOX can either find a way to have our friends list in the "REFER-A-FRIEND" section of the Rewards page, and/or have a setting or status notifier to show people who are NON-XBOX GOLD MEMBERS?

    Xbox One Friends Online Notifications

    I think I know what the problem is with the lack of friend notifications.

    I noticed that when I first visited my profile on the X1 my status was set to offline without me having set it to this myself, so assuming this is set by default for everybody, no one will get notifications unless you change your status to online.

    Online status is not a persistent setting on the 360 and you have to set it first before you sign in to your Gamertag to get the desired behaviour.

    Protip: Guide button > Settings tab > Preferences > Online Status > Offline. Tada. Alternatively you could just set your online status to friends only through the privacy settings.

    Friends list offline

    Hiya!!

    First off, I can understand your frustration with this matter. As far as the offline status for your friends, they could possibly be offline or they could have set their status as "Offline" You have that ability in your XBOX profile online for "Online,
    Offline, Do Not Disturb" When in doubt, you can always send them a message to see if they just selected "Offline" status for a reason. If they don't reply, chances are they're not there.. :) Have a great day!

    Does your friend appear offline? The appear offline feature will still increase in day count if they play while appearing offline. If he is not appearing offline, sometimes (very seldom) will the friends list show people with a wrong status, but when
    it does it usually updates within a few hours when this issue occurs.

    Im having the same issue. My friends online were changed to offline and even the ones who were already offline wont say when they were last on it only says offline. My online status says im offline to everyone but my privacy settings are open and my settings
    are set to online. This happened early this morning when i accepted a friend request and ever since i have been unable to see my friends or appear online.
