Offline factory reset isn’t working. What next?

Hey guys, I have an Xbox One X purchased in 2019 (so well out of warranty) that froze a few days ago while playing a game. Never had any issues with it before, didn’t think much of it. When I restarted the Xbox it loaded up the Home Screen but not all of the icons and was generally behaving sluggishly. I figured it just needed a full power cycle so I unplugged it and waited about 30 minutes to turn it back on.

After the power cycle my Xbox still turns on but sounds like it isn’t booting all the way up. The fan only turns on for about 2 seconds, I can hear the hard drive disk kick in briefly but then everything is completely silent. No video output at all. I’ve tried multiple HDMI cables, different televisions, different outlets for the power supply but nothing helps. I figured the next step would be an offline factory reset. So I followed the directions online, formatted a USB drive in NTSF and downloaded the appropriate file from Microsoft. Unfortunately it doesn’t seem like my console is accepting the update. I tried reformatting the drive and downloading the file again but that didn’t do anything. When I push and hold the eject and pairing buttons to initiate the factory reset I get the first tone but not the second one that is supposed to signify that the Xbox is updating. I’ve tried using all 3 USB ports on my console and the results have been the same.

Phone tech support has been less than helpful- my calls keep getting dropped and they don’t call me back. The last person I talked to immediately just tried to sell me a new Xbox which may be what I need but I’m not ready to accept that this one is fried without at least being able to factory reset it first. Is there anything else I can do?
