Offline Coop

I have been thinking what are peoples views on 4 player offline being restricted.

I don't know if I am just buying the wrong games but I am finding it harder just to have a few friends over to compete on the street or circuit or shoot the hell out of each other while sitting in the same room. sorry if I am ranting a little I just wanted
to see what others think?

Is coop offline for you guys? I can't seem to connect to a mission.

Rayman Origins. Four player offline coop.

 

It isn't restricted for all I know, there are a variety of games that allow 4 player splitscreen.

Some of them are the Halo series (Halo 3, Halo Reach, Halo 4, etc), Minecraft, Call of Duty series, etc.

 

I guess i find it mainly with racing which bugs me why they only have 2 player with 4 controls.

 

I know what you're trying to say, I remember buying Need for Speed Shift and finding out the mutliplayer on it was terrible, and it didn't even have split-screen.

 

I wonder if it can be brought up as an issue so they can take it to consideration?

 

It will all be down to the developers really. I love the split screen option in games, although I find playing online fun, sometimes it's better when your friends are in the same room. More chance for banter etc then.

You can not only have 4 player split screen races, you can take your 3 mates and have those races against other people online if you wanted.

They don't need LIVE accounts or anything.

 

I think these days games developers take it as read that everyone has on-line capabilities so are not bothering to put off-line MP split screen into a game.

Must admit, had some great fun with Halo 2 4-player split screen in the past, but did always find split screen a little distracting.

 

I prefer 4 player local co-op games like Fuzion Frenzy, where its not splitscreen, you know, like games where it's not meant to be played single player. They should make more games like fusion frenzy or crash bash

 

we definitely need more split screen fun, especially good fun when I can play with the GF
