Offline child account conversion to XBox Live account

Hi, I set up offline accounts for our children when we first got our 360 console. Now that they are older, I'd like to convert them to XBox live accounts, but the Profile option under Settings is greyed out in their accounts and won't let me select it.
Chat support told me that this might not be possible but that I should try the forum to find out for sure. Is it possible to convert an offline account set up as a child account to XBox live?? Or do I have to create a new Xbox live profile for them (thereby
not being able to keep achievements, etc.)? I appreciate any response from someone who is aware of this issue and the potential resolution.

Converting offline account to Live account

Same issues. Couldn't migrate the offline account to a LIVE account for a child on the xbox. Had to set the account up online which generated a GamerTag. When I then went to the offline child account on the xbox it asked for the adult login to verify
- did that - then it said the email address for the child account was already associated with an Xbox Live account. The only thing I could do is create a new profile on the Xbox. It's ridiculous there is no way to associate the new Live Account/Gamer Tag
to the exisiting offline account for a child account.

I just did this today with my offline partners profile which was on my own Gold account (360 )

You need to use a 24hr, 2 day, 7day pass and create an xbox live account for each of them, then port them across

 

It's no longer possible to convert offline child accounts to Live accounts. You would have to create new Live accounts for them.
