Official Xbox wireless headset not working

So just got the official Xbox wireless headset a few days ago (bought it off the microsoft store on Xbox so its brand new) and the thing refuses to stay powered on, the white light blinks 3 times, i hear the power on sound in the headset, then shuts off and it just keeps repeating. Tried resetting 3 times, fully charged it, nothing works. Really disappointing that it came out the box with this issue

Anyone know what to do? Cause at the moment it looks like I just wasted 100$ and I don't wanna wait 11-15 days to return it and receive a new one. I already called xbox support about it and they said its just a defective one and to return and replace it but as previously mentioned, that would take awhile and I'd like to avoid that, so if I could do something,anything to make this headset work please let me know.

Thank you for your post. I understand you are looking to connect a wireless headset to your Xbox One. The Xbox One does not officially support wireless headphones, the only time a wireless headset can be used is a third party headset specifically designed
to work with the Xbox One.

I hate to give bad news but seeing what you've done to try to solve the problem seems to be a factory problem and the best thing is to return and get another headset.

As for just having two headsets on the console, yeah you can totally do that! (I was in fact doing this just yesterday.) You can use the official wired headsets easily. I believe the official wireless ones will work as well.

A wireless headset that doesn't go over both ears. A replica of the 360 headset that works on Xbox One. When will this ever happen? It's one of the most needed features. It's a disgrace there's no official headset. I heard MS designed Xbox One in a manner that
doesn't allow for true mono wireless headset like the 360. How short sighted?
