Official Headset Adaptor

That sounds like the best option mate if your having problems like that. Are you getting a different model? I'm soon wanting to get one if you or anyone else can recommend a reasonably priced one.

 

deezee i think thats how it works with some of the older headsets. with the x11s i had it only turned up both but when i got the XO 7's it turns up seperately

 

cheers Bakez I got the adaptor replaced , I've not been in party chat but the game sound doesn't turn up using the headset control's so if that's the case then it sucks big time!! When I tried talking to my mate when I turned the volume up using the adaptor
it just made the game too loud and I couldn't hear him properly

 

Might be an issue with your headset, i am able to turn both chat and game volume up and down on the x12 headset

 

Maybe it's down to how it is connected? How have you got it all connected? Both of you.

I have the px5's, when i get a moment i'll test it also with my sons x12's.

 

Could well be I've connected it up wrong?? Just got usb straight into back of xbox and pink and green cable's doing nothing I've tried 2 x12s and 2 different adaptors so it does seem to be something I'm doing wrong !

 

After doing a bit of research it sounds like you have it set up correctly, but there seems to be a bit of negative on the way the adaptor works with the x12's.

Firstly if you want to use the same set up as... usb to your X1 and and the chat cable to adaptor then make sure your chat dial is all the way up on your x12's, then you will have to balance the game/chat audio with the game/chat buttons and the volume buttons.

The volume on the adaptor works like a slider, you can raise your chat by pressing chat button then + volume button but doing so will turn the game volume down and vice versa.

The other way to connect is to use your tv audio for game sound then turn the game volume down on the adaptor and the chat all the way up, then just use your chat wheel on the x12's to control chat volume.

yeah cheers for all that Kaleef I can see what you're saying I got it working a bit better last night will just need to persevere with it!

 

I have mine connected via usb directly to the tv (this way you get the sound through for anything connected to the tv), then i just have the red and white cables plugged in.

 

Didn't think about plugging usb into tv but the red n white cables I've got them for the x12s going into old 360 did they come with the x12 headset or did we buy them separately ?? lol I feel like I'm losing the plot with all this!!!

 

The red and white cables come with the headset mate, should go into the back of the tv, think most/or all new tvs dont support analog sound, so i use a digital to annalog converter for those cables. Feel free to send a party invite (using standard headset)
might be easier to explain how mines setup up, i will dig through all my cables and let you exactly how its connected.

 

Yeah probs best chatting lol I feel like I cant explain it properly but I didn't get red n white cables with my new x12 headset but I have got them with my old headset and I had to buy
this which I plugged into the back of the 360 if this makes any sense at all??
