    Hey. I wanna know something. I wanna buy a game for someone for Christmas. But I don't want to give it by e-mail. I wanna put the code in a letter. My question is: can I send the code to my email just to get it and then give it or it won't work because
    the email you get it is the email you'll have to install it on? Let me know please and thank you!

    That's a great idea for a present, I'm not 100% sure but it should be fine to do it that way, just be sure the code is redeemed on the correct account.

    Yes, games can be gifted without specifying a Microsoft account, by providing a valid email address. Instead of choosing an Xbox friend, enter an email when prompted.

    1. Find the game to gift on the Microsoft Store on your Xbox One console.
    2. Select Buy as gift from the store listing.
    3. Select Enter an email address. In this case your email.
    4. Enter the email address in the box provided. You will not be prompted to confirm. So make sure your email is correct.
    5. Enter sender name.
    6. Confirm your payment details to complete the transaction.

    An email will be sent to the specified address from Microsoft, containing a 25-character key for redemption that you can put into your letter.
