Offensive Gamertag - Requesting change.

My gamertag appears as it is offensive to users of xbox live as it has the word "Aryan" in it, also, when people speak with me, they call me "Ryan" which is my husbands name - as he plays on the gamertag as well. Having his name in the gamertag
is personally indentitiable information. Also, "Aryan" is a hate word. As it was used during world war two to dictate the "superior white race" .

Why would someone harrass you over your gamertag?

Forced gamertag change will only happen if your gamertag is offensive. Your gamertag is not offensive so..

If you believe the gamertag could be seen as offensive you can go ahead and change it. The enforcement team will only give a forced name change if someone files a complaint on you and they determine that it violates the code of conduct. If they do give a
forced change, they will change it to a random gamertag. You will not get to choose.

So why make the tag if you personally find it offensive?

People are allowed to use their names in tags.

The Aryan race is a historic Indo-European culture dating back four millennia, just because Adolf Hitler chose to use their culture as a template for Nazism doesn't mean that it's offensive.

However if you personally feel that this tag is offensive and might incur an enforcement action against your account it's highly recommend that you change the gamertag. If deemed "hate speech" the XBLPET may choose to ban not only your account but your console
as well.

Hi there Barrel Ginger900, Please do not post service request numbers on here this is a public forum thank you. If that gamertag is available your gonna have to pay $9.99 to change it or if your current gamertag is found offensive they will tell you to
change it.

Sorry you only get a gamertag change if your gamertag is actually offensive. Your gamertag is not actually offensive in the least bit. The only people who decide forced gamertag changes are the Xbox LIVE Enforcement Team and there's no way to simply "request"
one. Have someone file a complaint against you if you feel that the gamertag is inappropriate, if the Xbox LIVE Enforcement Team think it is they will give you a forced name change. There is no other way to get one, and asking for one on the forums won't get
you one.

If you need to change your gamertag you'll need to pay for it like everyone else.
