Offensive Gamertag Abuse

Hello,

I have recently moved from Croatia to Australia and am receiving alot of abuse on xbox live due to a offensive gamertag. My Gamertag () refers to what Croatian Soldiers called themself when they were fighting the Serbians. Due to a large population
of Ethnic culture in Australia i am constantly getting abused for my gamertag. I do not have the funds to change it as I am new to this country but Xbox live support directed me to post here.

Yes. If you have an offensive gamertag, you are required to pay to change it to something else.

This prevents abuse. Coming to the forums will not result in a free gamertag change.

Please note in past, you were able to get a free gamertag change, but it was prone to abuse with people picking eqaually offensive gamertags.

If you wish to change it you will need to pay $10 CAD

You don't get a free gamertag change anymore. People would abuse the free change and create a gamertag that was still offensive. Now you have to pay to change it if you were given a forced gamertag change.

 

They were incorrect having you post here. Enforcement does not read this forum. I doubt very few know slang words for other nationalities and googling it did not come up with anything. Irregardless, you will need to pay the 9.99 to change the name. Even
if your name is considered incorrect, you would simply receive a random generated name with no means of selecting it. Hence you would still have to pay to change it.

Also you can block communications and report players. Switching communications to friends only will also help with this.
