    There was a promotion for Halo Master Chief collection that if you played within the first month of launch you'd get a free code for ODST. Never redeemed the code, and now I'm no longer able to see the message from Xbox Live.

    Just to clarify, are you referring to the code for Halo: The Master Chief Collection or the code for ODST? If you are referring to the code for the Master Chief Collection, unfortunately we are unable to replace these codes here in the Support Forums.

    Halo ODST for the Xbox One is an Add-On for the Master Chief Collection. you must own that in order to play it.

    When you fire up the Master Chief Collection, you should be able to start a campaign (under Halo 3) for ODST.

    to add it was for halo odst extension for master chief collection as a comperable adjustment from 343 to make up for the server issues when halo master chief was launched again i feel absolutely dumb and terrible about it.
