    Oddly clicking thumbsticks


    Never posted anything before but I cant fine a single post, forum or support on this topic, and I wanna know if its just me or if people know its there but don't care or notice.

    iv noticed that on some of my controllers when I move the thumbstick up it will click slightly once it reaches the top, the same when I pull the thumbstick down. this also causes potential clicking when I rotate the thumbstick at around the 8-9 o'clock and
    2-3 o'clock mark. i first noticed this on my elite controller. I returned it and got another, the next one had it i returned my elite around 10 times always getting this click some stronger than others, some on the left some on the right and some on both thumbsticks.
    but it was always there. i then decided to get a refund of my elite and picked up a few Xbox one s controllers same deal. I'm currently using my controller i got with the xbox one x and its got the click but I'm forcing myself to ignore it because i just wanna
    play some games

    i believe its possible to get a controller without these annoying clicks as some controllers iv had have had no clicks on some of the on one stick or the other but I'm loosing hope.

    i never used to notice these issues when i had my xbox one for the first year so i don't know whether iv only now noticed and cant unnoticed or if there has been a quality change in the controllers.

    if anyone can help in anyway id love to know.

    Talked with Microsoft and they said to just return it for a new one. Let's hope that this time I won't get any of these unecessary issues.

    I won't open it to risk the warranty. It's just at this point I am starting to wonder if I am oversensitive to these things or just unlucky. Almost every controller I owned has had a problem like this of some sort.

    However, what I could recommend you is trying to carefully clean your thumbstick by following this guide from them:

    “We recommend using canned compressed air to clear any potential debris around your thumbstick modules. Remove the thumbstick and spray compressed air in 3 consecutive one-second bursts around the thumbstick module before replacing your thumbstick. Repeat a few times if necessary, waiting a few minutes between each try”.

    In case the issue persists and your controller is within warranty, you may want to apply for it and request a repair/replacement for your controller.

    I don't believe so, no. The F710 has specific drivers which won't be installable on Xbox.

    Personally, I'd use the Xbox controller...it is so much lighter than the F710. The left thumbstick does seem oddly placed but you soon get used to it

    You don't need to hold the thumbstick in to continue sprinting in Destiny. Just click it to start running and keep the thumbstick pushed forward.
