    Odd headset distortion


    I had a Turtle Beach 800x which I picked up as a return. It worked most of the time, but occasionally it would start to skip, or even completely distort the sound. Sometimes defeningly loud! I'd perform a full reset and sometimes this would fix things, but often I'd just have to put up with it. And after maybe 20 mins it would stop.

    I set the audio settings according to a Turtle Beach guide. Which takes into consideration stuff like it's using the optical out from the XBox One S.

    So I recently bought a Razer Kaira headset. One because of these intermittent sound issues, but secondly because of the nuisance of the Turtle Beach stupidly short cables, which made siting my headset a pain. And the audio issues are still there!

    I changed the XBox settings to what I think are appropriate for this headset, but as no guides exist, it's a guess.

    It can't be interference, yes the base unit was behind my TV, but there's nothing between the XBox and the Razer headset! Free line of sight! And I have bluetooth headphones for listening to music from my stereo with zero problems!

    mines actually opposite..more distorted using DTS in headset or with 5.1 surround sound receiver.

    Turtle Beach PX3 Sound Quality Issues

    It's definitely a muffled noise, I compare the sounds coming from the headset to the sounds coming straight through my TV. The TV sound quality is very crisp and clear, while the headset quality seems to be far away, muffled and sometimes distorted.
