Odd Gamertag Glitch?

I'll attempt to summarize this the best I can. I've attempted to change my GT to a specific "available" name for a couple months now (well before May 18th announcement). I've search friends list (attempted every rendition of the name (spaces, etc.)), Gamertag
availability websites, called support to confirm it's available. All of which confirmed it to be so. Support says it available and not in the database. YET when I attempt to change it online it comes up unavailable. When I attempt to change it on the console
it glitches out the process. When you type the name and click okay it kicks you back to the previous screen without any "Gamertag is unavailable" or "Gamertag is reserved". It just kicks you back. I've tried it on multiple consoles and with different accounts
(Yes, with accounts that meet the May 18th requirement too in case that is a thought). Has anyone else encountered this problem. The closest guess I've received is that it's a private account that can't be searched by the database, any website, friends list,
support team, etc. I don't find support or the ambassadors at fault by any means. It just seems kind of asinine that an essentially available name has been this difficult to obtain... Or at the bare minimum confirmed SOMEONE actually owns it.

Ok, this is odd. Is your gamertag set to the same country that you live in?

Gamertag is different between console and Xbox.com

No I dont think you understand how the system works

You can't ask support if a certain name is available

If you asked them if ngoc phi is available then it wouldn't shoe up on their system

But it will still be locked because exists

The only way to check if an name is available is to try it online the console if it says it's not its not

And if it's more then three characters it would be impossible for you to check

Remember it can be like application any combination like ap plicat tion app lication

You have infinite amount of combinations you will just have to be more creative with your name

True, but sometimes it's like they are cheating and nobody thought about the backlash of feedback.

It's not at random, it's when they begin an attack. Once you learn the timing it's extremely predictable.
