Odd DNS problem

Discus and support Odd DNS problem in XBoX on Consoles to solve the problem; Whenever I try to change my DNS by adding manual primary and secondary DNS, it seems to accept the input of both but then on the next summary screen it...     Odd DNS problem


    Whenever I try to change my DNS by adding manual primary and secondary DNS, it seems to accept the input of both but then on the next summary screen it displays the secondary as the primary DNS and the secondary is set to 0.0.0.0 resulting in connection
    errors. I have gone through the DNS entry process multiple times and it does it every time irrespective of what I put as the primary and secondary DNS numbers. Needless to say I have checked that the details are entered correctly on both primary and secondary
    pages.

    Any ideas?

    an odd problem

    oh well and that is screwed up that it is a problem with there system but u have to pay to fix it. i guess i will just deal with i geuss

    Odd DNS problem

    Does the DNS that is automatically assigned by your ISP not work? It most cases there really is no need to change your DNS servers.

    Yes, having lots of probs with the automatic DNS for some reasons so want to try some alternatives but I am encountering this bug every time I try to add for example Google's DNS servers...

    Is there any particular reason why you can't type in your prefered DNS into your router's DNS settings? Instead of having to manually type DNS information per device.

    Change your DNS to 208.67.222.222" and the Secondary DNS as "208.67.220.220"

    IP should be fine but DNS can be an odd one.

    If nothing else it may be a factory reset 😬

    You could try calling up phone support in your region (support.xbox.com/contact-us) to see about a refund for the name change. I'm not guaranteeing anything, but it's worth a call.
