    Odd connection issue


    This morning, at 11am, I was able to play online without any problems. Turned it back on at around 3:30, and it paused after the boot up splash screen, where it was that buffer icon before loading the dashboard, with the error that it can't download the
    update and to test connection. I tested the connection and green checkmarks across the board.

    I went to play a game and it automatically signed me out and would not let me play online. I power cycled my router, turned it back on, and this time, I was able to log into my xbox live account, was able to see my friends online, but couldn't see their
    profile pictures or anything like that, and the dashboard said I needed to connect my xbox to the internet to view the content.

    Network statistics also passed with a 0% packet loss, 65ms ping, and 27Mb/s download with 1.3Mb/s upload. Is something going on with live today?

    Hi,

    Have you tried ethernet cable instead?. how far is your xbox one away from the modem?

    Have you called your ISP?, To see if there is have problems.

    Yea this just happened to me tonight. I called and they told me that quite a few people are experiencing the same problem, but it's not a widespread thing apparently. He said recovering your gamertag has a pretty good chance of getting it to work again,
    however when I tried that the recover process didn't complete and then it said it couldn't connect. He put me on hold and said that they are having issues with the gamertag recovery process right now so now I'm stuck and can't even log in just to play single
    player games >_<. Guess I'll just have to wait until the gamertag recovery is up and running smoothly again.

    There is something going on because the last few times I've been signed in either I or someone in the chat party will get booted all the way back to the xbox sign in page for the console with a message that the connection to xbox live is temporarily unavailable.

    It's totally random which is the frustrating thing it's almost as if there are to many people on and so the network goes through kicking people off or out of what there doing I have to say this is a little annoying.... : (

    I meant to add that after turning the xbox off you may have to unplug it as well. It may also help to use the "forget this network" first, if connecting via wifi, then set it up again after the restart

    Have you tried doing a power cycle (hard reset) on the xbox as quite often after playing detisny i had problems connecting an that was the only way round it
