October 2018 xbox one s update problem

Since I updated to the October update on my Xbox one s Gears of war 4 2tb edition console my external game drive seagate 2tb has been showing strange activities it will come on and off every few seconds and when I turn my console on it's fine only when stop
playing and turn it off console the game drive thinks it's still on by coming on few seconds then goes off then back on again. I've updated all games and apps as know it's not that.

Could it be a bug with new October update making external drive come on then off every few seconds when console off as never use to do this before I updated it only use come on when there was updates then went off never use to come on then off all time now.

Does the October 2018 Xbone update throttle (decrease) upload bandwidth?

Here is a link for what was updated in the
October Update. Far as I can see, nothing with internet settings was touched. It could be a bug that the update created. You can also report it going to Xbox insider hub app and report a problem.

Audio Bitstream Pass-Through

Hi,I have the same problem with my Xbox One S, bitstream passthrough worked fine before,but not after the December 2018 update.

i suggest to perform a
power cycle.

In order to clean the cache and see if it works fine

 

If you have the console set to Instant On with the option to keep the console and games updated then that would be the reason you're seeing this. The hard drive will keep going for a bit after shut down to make sure there are no updates. This is normal.

I tried that power cycle it didn't work my external he'd still coming on then off. I even tried putting it in the other usb port on back of console still does same thing in both usb ports. Now my external hdd won't go off it's staying on even when console
off

I've been timing it for about hour now my external drive comes on between few seconds to few minutes and stays active for few seconds than goes off then does same over and over while it's in instant-on opinion if put my console on Power save then the external
hdd goes off after about 5-10mins and stays off.

I'm now just thinking is this new power setting within the October update to keep external hdd active in the instant-on opinion. As before this update it only came on when there was updates that needed downloading when console off.

If you haven't already, we suggest you try performing a
Factory Reset while keeping your games and apps.

1. Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
2. Select Settings.
3. Select All Settings.
4. Select System.
5. Select Console info & updates.
6. Select Reset console.

Just make sure you know your email and password as you will be asked to sign back in. Let us know if this helps!

 

Same probleme here with my xbox one x. My external seagate drive turns on and off. In 1 hour this happens 10 times and more.

I already do a power cycle and a factory reset. This problem first happens after the october update !
