October 2014 updates and beyond

Per the
interview with Phil Spencer on the Major Nelson podcast, there's no new updates 'til the new year. They don't want to risk introducing any problems during the big holiday seasons. I'm sure there's enough bug-fixing on certain games to worry about as is.

 

since the last few monthly updates that have come out, and with June update preview coming out and officially coming out within the next few weeks, what do you guys think of them so far? has Xbox one really improved? I'm actually really temped to buy "One"
now lol get it get it?!?! jk. but for real, has Xbox one gotten better?

 

Here's a list of Xbox Live Features Xbox 1 missed at Launch, which it has now.

1. Voice messaging share and receive between BOTH 360 and 1.

2. Change the dash background.

3. Bio and location added to your profile.

4. Dolby Support. At Launch it only had Uncompressed Stereo, sounded awful.

5. External HDD support.

6. USB File support like for pictures and videos.

7. Battery indicator for controller.

8. Voice Commands unlocked for New Zealand locale.

9. Can now access the console's HDD. Software restrictions didn't give us the option to uninstall or see in detail what was on our console's HDD.

10. Recent Players List.

11. The UI is much more faster than what it was like at Launch, it doesn't take 30 seconds just to open the messages app or the friends app or the achievements app. No, it's not your ISP. It's the way they make the software on a console with better hardware
specs and more Xbox Live servers than 360.

12. It has more games. Microsoft acquired Minecraft (they're interested in it just like me and 10 million+ others on Xbox 360/Xbox 1. Over 10 million play Minecraft on Xbox 360 and Xbox 1 combined platforms).

13. They created an official feedback site. And they role out system updates pretty much on a monthly bases, which is good because that means new stuff, improvements, and stuff re-iterated by those who've placed feedback on the official feedback site. And
it has sold at least 12 million Xbox 1 consoles since Launch. If you ask me, Xbox 1 has gotten better. Add to that, they did some policy reversals before Xbox Launched. Kinect no longer has to be plugged in to the console for it to operate, and there are no
mandatory 24 hour Xbox Live check-ins your console has to do. It goes to prove Microsoft can't just create something based on just their aspirations, but what we like. Microsoft got no doubt tonnes of feedback and complaints about how it couldn't do half the
stuff Xbox 360 can, boys.... it is an XBOX console, and how it left out so many Features 360 had. Things like change the dash background and voice messaging. Most of them have now been added to Xbox 1. So I'd say it has gotten better.

 

what do you think of the system overall, do you like it?

 

I give it 7.5/10 i like it and its ok but since 80% of my friends r on 360 and i love it more incl the ui i spend much more time on 360 fyi im txtin this on my phone its wednesday morning 4 me. I think there needs 2 be more better diferentiation btw friends
and followers like xb360s system.
