O Voice Messaging, Where Art Thou?

I was actually pretty pumped that X1 didn't have voice messages. I rarely used them and would. 50% of the time I don't have a mic plugged in so text messages are all I use.

The current set up makes it harder for people to send me idle nonsense so no complaints here.

I hated voice messages with a passion. All you ever get is a mumbled noise that you could never be bothered to listen to in the first place,, not to mention the fact they couldn't be used on here or smartglass etc.

You can use the Kinect 2.0, if you don't have a mic plugged in. So far I have heard numerous people talk using it and yes you can tell they are using it, but it has surprising quality. Voice messages are a must for competitive reasons as well as convenience

When I can listen to voice messages on xbox.com, or smartglass, then it's convenient. Otherwise I'd rather it was just texted to me.

Personally, I'm fine either way. If voice messages come back, then great. If not, I will endure.

Oh, and by the way, there are 2 chat-pads that are already available for the Xbox One:

I have said this a million times. It was our feature first, and people that are complaining about it being trash are being ignorant to the fact that the last gen version was voice messaging was last gen. Next Gen voice messaging should be better as well
as properly used with the new reputation system. And if you are upset that someone sent a voice message on the 360 and talked trash you are no better than the person who sent you it, for wishing it to stay away. The competition now has our feature and we
do not. And that is unacceptable in my opinion.

Some parents may be iffy about letting their kids have Skype cuz what ever personal info you choose to put on there you CANT change from public to private. You can't open voice messages on Xbox 1's Skype app. You can txt message, voice message, and picture
message on Xbox 360. SEE THE VARIETY there? Its what helps make XBOX LIVE so rich. Voice messaging... at least... between Xbox 1 console to Xbox 1 console is possible since all Xbox 1 consoles have the same audio codec tech. Plus younger peps may want more
VARIETY in ways to send messages ON XBOX LIVE without having to deal with ANOTHER DIVISION of Microsoft. I'm with Goth on this one. And Xbox 1 is Xbox.
