O Voice Messaging, Where Art Thou?

Seriously... How many years is it gonna take to get this on my Xbox One?

Xbox One April update out for all now

O darn, no voice messaging. The update is completed on my console.

"Sorry, we cannot open voice messages here. Please open this on Xbox 360".

Bowski made a thread about voice messaging returning to Xbox 1. I guess it will come out next week, later this month, or maybe next month. I am not in the Preview Program.

Thankfully, it is still on the trash-heap of history...hope it stays there (no offense goth)....

 

I have said this a million times. It was our feature first, and people that are complaining about it being trash are being ignorant to the fact that the last gen version was voice messaging was last gen. Next Gen voice messaging should be better as well
as properly used with the new reputation system. And if you are upset that someone sent a voice message on the 360 and talked trash you are no better than the person who sent you it, for wishing it to stay away. The competition now has our feature and we
do not. And that is unacceptable in my opinion.

 

Are you serious Burnin TODI? Voice messages are the pinnacle of convenience. Instead of having to type out an entire message I can simply tell someone something, and as Doc said. You hated last gen voice messages. Next gen voice messages will be on an entirely
new level. I for one cannot wait for voice messages.

 

I will be fine if they let me completely shut them off...don't want to send them, don't want to get them in my inbox.

 

I actually prefer text as well because I can understand them nearly 100% of the time. I've had a lot of voice messages that I just didn't reply to because I had no idea what they said.

Though that doesn't mean I don't want the feature to come for everyone else, I just hope some kind of chat pad comes out again. Then we can all be happy, haha.

 

Personally, I'm fine either way. If voice messages come back, then great. If not, I will endure.

Oh, and by the way, there are 2 chat-pads that are already available for the Xbox One:

1) Smartglass

2) USB Keyboard

Well all Xbox 1 consoles have the same audio codec technology. It's not like an Xbox 1 has to talk to Xbox 360. They really should get Voice Messaging onto Xbox 1 so that you can at least use it between other Xbox 1 consoles. Voice messaging between Xbox
1 consoles, IS POSSIBLE, and wanted. It's not like Xbox has a bunch of 30 or 40 year olds who JUST want to txt in messages. Maybe put it in the xbox feedback site.

 

Peps who don't enjoy voice messaging are probably too old to put up with love messages or hear music in a message or don't have many friends who have sent or exchanged voice messages with or they're too old to hear little kids in their inbox. Some voice
messages can be funny others a bit annoying and some peps who only send voice messages. If someone wanted to apologize in a message, doing so verbally in a message is better than just III Texting III it. Despite the term chat pad, a pad cannot chat. It can
only txt type. Bring out voice messaging already.

 

When I can listen to voice messages on xbox.com, or smartglass, then it's convenient. Otherwise I'd rather it was just texted to me.

 

Well so far you can't EVEN do it on the console (yet). Guess some of us won't be silent about this until Microsoft GETS it onto the Xbox 1 console. Voice messaging between all Xbox 1 consoles at least, IS POSSIBLE, since ALL Xbox 1 consoles have the same
AUDIO CODEC. This is about the 12TH voice messaging thread I've seen on the Xbox 1 General Discussion Forum.

 

I agree with @Unreal - voice messages are inconvenient unless they can be listened to on all devices/web site etc. Which is why I think MS should just ensure Skype is integrated properly and seamlessly into the Xbox world so we can use that instead (rather
than reinventing the wheel).

 

Some parents may be iffy about letting their kids have Skype cuz what ever personal info you choose to put on there you CANT change from public to private. You can't open voice messages on Xbox 1's Skype app. You can txt message, voice message, and picture
message on Xbox 360. SEE THE VARIETY there? Its what helps make XBOX LIVE so rich. Voice messaging... at least... between Xbox 1 console to Xbox 1 console is possible since all Xbox 1 consoles have the same audio codec tech. Plus younger peps may want more
VARIETY in ways to send messages ON XBOX LIVE without having to deal with ANOTHER DIVISION of Microsoft. I'm with Goth on this one. And Xbox 1 is Xbox.
