  1. NXOE

I posted early impressions of it during the preview and thought I would give an update now that's it is out for everyone.

The new guide is better and a lot quicker. It has most of the options one would need quick access to. It even pulls up headset settings when using a headset. The friends list is good. The party system is better. I wish the controller had an extra button
instead of having to double tap the glowing Xbox button, but it works. Nice job on the new guide. (I'm bad with names. I think it's called the guide. It is the menu that pops up on the left side of the screen after double tapping the Xbox button).

I still don't care for and hardly use the community column. But it causes no harm being there. The OneGuide I barely use either. I think mainly because the Xbox doesn't control my cable box. I tried, but it doesn't seem compatible. That is ok. That is a
minor issue to me. I still keep my cable box plugged in. But what is a bigger issue is that when I snap tv while playing a game is that the tv lags. The video and audio are out of sync while tv is snapped a lot of times. The tv app works fine in full screen
mode, so I keep the cable box plugged into the Xbox still to receive notifications and jump between tv and games. But I do wish the snap feature was fixed. The store column is good. And pins are quick to access and load quickly.

Kinect voice commands work most of the time. They work for basic commands quite well. Those would be for taking screenshots, recording videos, starting apps/games, and snapping apps such as parties or friends list. Other functions don't work so well. Those
would include turning the system on or off, or deeper functions like selecting numerical items such as selecting which friend to send a party invite (numerical values like item 1,2... are given to friends).

It's not the fault of the system software developers, but I would like for game developers to take advantage of the smart glass app more in game. Also it would be cool if they added voice commands to their games more. There was a Need for Speed game that
came out in 2013 that used voice quite well. It was subtle but helpful.

This is another minor detail, and I guess I should put this on the other site where people vote for features. Why not have some FREE wallpapers that are designed around the current big hit games available right there in the Xbox store? Not everyone is going
to put a custom image the way it is setup now. I did it, but I don't think everyone will.

Overall I like the new dashboard/OS. it is quicker and overall very stable. There is quick access to most of the features one would need. And I can easily find what I'm looking for. So that makes for a good OS.

    :)

  3. Forced to reset to factory settings

How did you get it to go back to the original dash? If you update to NXOE and do a factory reset it still installs the NXOE build.

It's Windows 10 like, now. Unlike previous versions which were Windows 8 like. Windows 10 is a much faster UI/OS. Xbox 1's UI was far too slow at Launch were several members mentioned it took 30 seconds just to open up an app like Messages or Friends or
Achievements. No it's not our ISP's. It's the way they make the software. With the new UI, it's faster for sure. We can click click click scroll click, rather than click.... wait..... click.... wait..... wait.... I give up NXOE :)

I still think Xbox 360's UI has a few advantages though. It's Xbox Guide Menu gives you quick and easy access to Party/friends/achievements/mesages without shrinking or leaving your game. Xbox 360's UI there is a page on the dashboard called Social, which
shows you and your friends avatars, and in party, shows gamertag avatars too. On Xbox 360 in the Xbox Guide Menu, you can also see everyone in your party chat. Xbox 360's UI is a bit more kiddy but for reasons mentioned in this paragraph, I still like it better.
Xbox 1's Community Page mainly, just shows activity feed.

Microsoft didn't remove all Kinect features with the new UI. We still have voice messaging. But gestures have been removed since most people didn't use it. They may bring it back later though. But the one thing that will stand out with this new Windows 10-like,
UI is IT IS A LOT FASTER than that previous Windows 8 hunk. Too me it's the best UI version they've released so far on Xbox 1.

  5. ..........

    Hello everyone NXOE :)

    ..........

The NXOE Dashboard is " meh " in my opinon.

    ..........

It is functional and it gets the job done (NXOE Dashboard).

    ..........

The current Xbox 360 Dashboard is still better in my opinion NXOE :)

    ..........

Have a nice day or afternoon or night everyone NXOE :)

  6. It is what it is, and what it is is often form deprived of function.

For example, I dl a demo and didn't like it so I deleted it. But it's always in my 'ready to download' list and I don't want it there either. But there is no way that I found to get rid of it.

When attempting to do so, I feel like De Dee on Dexters lab trying to figure out how to do things on this dash. 'Ooh, what does this button do?' Nothing.

Thus when thumbing through my games and apps there is this little fly on the wall that I simply cannot swat. (Figure of speech)

Yeah that's another weird, absent feature. Used to be able to "Hide" games in the ready to download list. It's getting packed with 360 titles now too.

I've noticed too that games and demos appear in the game history... I've got things like Neverwinter and Deer God in my list. I guess they were running when I signed into my profile? Because I haven't played either on this profle. Can't remove them.

Stuff like the Rainbow Six Siege and Battlefront betas are in there, DR3 demo, Destiny demo... yeah... no way to remove them either. You can remove any game you haven't pinged a cheev in, on 360, and could on the older X1 dash, and demos don't/didn't show
    up in your history.

I agree with the OP too that game-related wallpapers would be nice, but honestly, with achievement backgrounds and a USB stick, not exactly hard to get what you want. I currently have Gem from Tron on mine. Goes good with the blue.

Also, also, since people have been sending me links to their PS4 videos, I've noticed that pretty much every PS4 exclusive, and some third-party titles have new cool intros, transitions, and outros for editing in PS4's editing suite. Bloodborne, Battlefront
etc... Upload Studio still has the stock selection from launch. Minecraft, Sunset Overdrive, Halo MCC, Forza etc. No Halo 5, RotTR, or any new titles really.

    Meh.

Xbox 360's UI I can say, is now slower than Xbox 1's Windows 10 UI. But it beats Xbox 1 in a few things. Xbox 360 has a Social page which displays your avatar, all your friends avatars, and party section where you can view (via avatars and hovering over
them so it shows their gamertag) who is in the party without even joining it. Xbox 360 also has the Xbox Guide Menu. So you can play games and watch videos without shrinking or opening up snap this or pane that. The Xbox 360 Guide Menu offers quick and easy
access to XBL Party, messages, friends, achievements, etc, without even leaving or shrinking your video or game session. Xbox 360's UI is a bit more kiddy, but I love it. But I like how Microsoft finally rolled out it's fastest UI aka Windows 10 like, on Xbox
    1. I've had Xbox 1 since launch (day 1 edition with kinect) and it's way faster than previous versions which were like Windows 8 based. The Community page on Xbox 1 doesn't display friends or you and your friends avatars and parties like Xbox 360's Social
page on it's UI which I see as a definete downside, but the speed of the new UI on Xbox 1 is awesomeness. Parties work. Games work. Apps work. Voice Commands (though not always perfect) good too. Remember Xbox is a Microsoft product. And they role out Updates
frequently for all their products. Xbox 1 has had many UI changes since launch, just like Xbox 360. So they will keep rolling out new things and improvements.

takes a couple of seconds for me, must be a network issue otherwise everybody would be affected. i think most issues with consoles these days can be caused by network issues, take the 360, offline it is fast very fast, connect to the net and boom it can
    slow to a crawl.

100% no networking issues here - pretty solid on that as its my job to know the network lol

Haven't cleared the cache in a while so i'll do that later. Usually sorts out all the issues tbh

Stuttering video using Hauppauge TV tuner on XBOX Once

It worked fine before the NXOE AND it works perfectly fine on my PC.

The Hauppauge tuner is compatible with the PC. If you plug it into your PC there is no stuttering.

Since it worked perfectly before the NXOE and perfectly on the PC, it is NOT the Hauppauge tuner.

They changed something with the NXOE. That is all. The tuner is NOT a POS.
