    NXOE update does not recognize my external hdd


    After receiving the nxoe update to windows 10, my console fails to recognize my external hard drive. The green light is on. It powers it up. It flashes. But when I go to manage my storage it only recognizes my internal hard drive and not my external one.
    It was working completely fine up until the new preview update. Now i have hundreds of dollars worth of games in my waiting to install list...

    that's not true, i have 1 external hdd and 2 flash drives and it recognizes them all

    Sept 2015 system update - external hdd no longer recognized

    After running the update (sept 2015) my console no longer recognizes my external hdd (ie: in media player). This drive has been connected to my console since day one, and has never had issues. Both mac and PC computers recognize it immediately.

    Power cycling thru system settings SOMETIMES helps recognize.

    Plugging/unplugging the drive has not worked so far.

    Quick search online shows many people with a similar issue.

    *MS support.... any fixes coming?

    NXOE update does not recognize my external hdd

    They are still there. Try doing the following. Do a hard reset of the system, and unplug the external HDD and plug it back in.

    Xbox had system update last night now it's not recognizing external hard drive

    What are you using the external HDD for (Games & Apps or External Captures)? Are you in the Dashboard Preview program?

    If External Captures and yes to Dashboard Preview then please use the report feature of the Xbox Insider app to let them know about your issue. My console is in Preview Alpha and I noticed that the last update seems to have affected how it sees my External
    Capture HDD.

    If your console isn't in Dashboard Preview then try connecting your HDD to a computer to see if it's recognized there. It may be a coincidence however unfortunately HDD'S do die eventually.

    I'm sorry, but how does having a working external HDD then after an update a nonworking HDD constitute us having to do this BS?

    I had a perfectly fine Xbox One with all my games on my external HDD and this morning after and update... A POS.

    Please realize this is bigger than 1 person issue.

    Seagate external drive (2TB) has stopped working.

    Is the external drive not being recognized by your Xbox? PC? Its possible the external HDD may need to be replaced...

    This is Getting Ridiculous Now. Update for Dashboard NEEDED.

    I rarely have any problem signing in. I don't use instant on... but since the NXOE, every time my console starts, I get the notification pop up telling me that "External HDD is ready". Is there a way to stop it? Anyone else have this? It's not really a problem,
    but it does get annoying since it shows up in the notifications. Hard reset doesn't work BTW.
