NXOE Is Really Getting My Freaking Nerve

Everyday I run into an issue where the Dashboard becomes unresponsive, or I get a message about my local saved games need clearing (Doing so last time rebooted console to a green screen that went to black.)

This is around the 13th time I had to USB reset my console since the NXOE rolled out.

    :)

    Hi Dratsablive,

Thank you for posting on the forums regarding your problem with NXOE becoming unresponsive.

What I recommend doing is backing up all your saved game data to a 3.0 USB storage device and doing a Factory Reset on your console and start from scratch.

If you do still get problems after doing this please do submit another post here so that we can provide you more assistance.

I have an external USB Hard Drive that is my main storage. A USB Restore is just as good as a factory reset (It erases everything from the internal drive.)

I just am under the perception that this Dashboard is not ready for Prime Time based on how many others are experiencing the same issue.

  6. Just out of curiosity, is your Xbox by any chance connected to a surge protector or is it on Instant on ?

I do not have instant on but do have it connected to a surge protector.

It is recommended not to have your console plugged into a surge protector as Xbox power supplied them built in, so having the Xbox's power supply plugged directly into the wall socket is recommend.

There are some of us that DO NOT LIKE the new cord for the XBOX One: The thing is TOO SHORT and also is sometimes loosened from the power brick. If they made the cord a six-footer, It would be long enough to be able to plug into any outlet, and would not
require the use of extension cords. Make the Darn thing like the 360's cord, and it would be great - my brick has fallen twice from the table that it sits on, so I have to use a heavy extension cord on mine because the cord is inferior /short and does not
allow the brick to sit on the floor on its own.

Some of us however, have to use surge surpressors / power strips because the building power is flakey - I would much rather replace a $30 -60 strip then have to replace the power brick - and as I have been looking around, there is no real way for us to provide
feedback on the system - you go to the feedback site, and all you see is feedback on what they posted - irritating at best - I paid over $500 for a system with a stinkin' short cord?

Hi TechSGT1, Thank you for your post today.

You can use a extension lead as long it is not surge protected at your own risk or the recommended thing is to have the Xbox power supply cable plugged directly into the wall socket, I respect what you are saying but I just informing people what is
    safe & recommended by Microsoft.

Please feel free to send me a Direct Message via Forums about this issue.

Extension cords should be fine if they don't have a surge protector. Surge protectors can lower the voltage or current going through which can leave your device with not enough juice to keep all things up and running.

This is not an option when you have multiple devices like a TV AV Receiver, PS4, Wii, etc. all connected an only two outlets available nearby. This needs to be fixed NOW! I just had to USB Reset my console for the 15th time. UNACCEPTABLE!

  15. Seems to me no one had any of the issues they are having now until they received this new update, so I find it hard to believe a surge protector would make the xbox freeze, run slow, or make the tv stutter. This is pretty pathetic, who the heck did the
beta testing for this update, were they just idiots or did the developers just not care to hear about all the bugs reported???? Most people were so excited for this update now I wish I never did it. I can't even play golf and watch tv at the same time......the
whole reason I bought this system
