    nvwgf2umx.dll game crashes


    So recently i have been getting alot of these random game crashes (no error befoer crash just a freeze and then the game disappears)

    and when i check the event viewer logs the culprit always seems to be nvwgf2umx.dll , heres a log from one of the crashes

    This happens with alot of games (not all) and it seems to be happening to usually steam games , now i already searched the internet for solutions and did everything i came across

    1-Ran SFC/SCANNOW

    2- Re installed GPU drivers using DDU

    3- Reset windows

    4- Ran benchmarks for GPU and CPU and the RAMs

    5- Updated the BIOS

    literally everything that could be done i did , even rolled back the GPU drivers , this is actually driving me crazy , ive had this pc 3 years and this only started happening recently , the only thing i could think of is the CPU cuz its the newest part i upgraded , but i tested it with an identical CPU and the results were the same , any help would be appreciated.

    RTX 2060

    AMD Ryzen 5600x

    16GB Ram

    We fully understand the inconvenience the issue has caused and that the current situation can be frustrating.

    Before that, I would like to ask if you have tried to use a clean boot. First, exclude whether it may be caused by other third-party procedures.

    Disclaimer: A “clean boot” starts Windows with a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. It helps to determine whether a background program is interfering with your game or program and to isolate the cause of a problem. These steps of "clean boot" might look complicated at first glance. However, to avoid any trouble for you, please follow them in order and step-by-step so that it will help you get you back on track.

    Then I would like to ask if you have tried to play games with different resolutions or run games in different window modes to check whether the same problem still occurs.

    At the same time, monitor whether the temperature of your GPU is too high during the game. High temperatures can also cause freezing and collapse. By the way, check the temperature of other hardware, such as the CPU etc.

    Then use the TM5 memory test software to test the stability to see if the memory problem caused it.

    Help, my PC keeps crashing unpredictably while gaming!

    Actually the Fall Guys crash (with the UnityPlayer.dll module) is a well known bug. Lots of people complains from this crash on Unity games. You can search it on Bing for "fallguys "unityplayer.dll"" or ""unityplayer.dll" crash" and it will show you several players having this same issue with no fix.

    Now for the Nioh error (which was caused both on the Nioh.exe file and the "nvwgf2umx.dll" file) I'm not sure exactly what is causing it. The "nvwgf2umx.dll" is a library file from NVidia if I'm not mistaken. Warzone was giving errors for this same file for some users.

    You can try to reinstall your NVidia drivers to see if it fixes it. There were some settings people changed for Warzone to fix this error but it does not apply to Niah unfortunately.

    I always get a crash with the same exception code and referencing nvwgf2umx.dll whenever I try to stream if I have vsync forced to fast or adaptive vsync in nvidia control panel. If you force vsync setting, try changing to application controlled to see if
    it helps with your issue.

    About the Unity games issue, I'm not really sure if playing them with friends/multiplayer exacerbates the issue. I just know that it is a known issue, my friend.

    And about your GPU driver, you can try to uninstall the GeForce Experience and update your drivers manually via the Nvidia website. Have you downloaded the GeForce Experience app on the Nvidia website?

    The GPU driver can be related to your crashes. Now I'm not really sure if the game is not using the nvwgf2umx.dll correctly (just like Warzone haf a config that did not work well with this .dll file) or if the driver is really corrupted or is not working properly.

    There was a time on your computer that everything was working fine, right? The issue started around 1 week ago, right?
